It is one I saw as someone else's avatar, a couple decades ago. I thought it was fun, looked it up, and found the graphic novel Transmetropolitan.
I bought the first collection. I was impressed, and bought the next collected volume, then the third, then all the rest of it.

I'm a fan of Hunter S. Thompson, and this character is a nicely vicious salute to him.
