Donate to Zooville!

FYI for donors, if the feds ever decide to crack down on this site and if you're using a cryptocurrency address that can be traced to you:

The above article isn't a concern if you bought your crypto from a non-KYC source, although of course there are now companies doing IP tracing of transactions and other forms of datamining to track down who sent payments.

If you don't already have cryptocurrencies acquired without KYC (or don't know how to protect yourself from the surveillance industry), and don't have a no-KYC Bitcoin teller machine (BTM) near you, an easy workaround is to get some homeless addict hanging around the parking lot to do the KYC for you at a BTM that requires it.

I would be glad to send 50. However only using XMR monero. Admins, why not make a wallet for XMR and show the log for conversion of coin on your side? Seems goofy to keep it only BTC and BCH. I understand transparency, but why make our community supporters transparent. There’s no logic in that, in fact, it’s counter intuitive to recommend safe expenditures in what we do, and then turn around and criminalize the user who is not savvy in this area. Message me a way to send XMR.

and in all seriousness, please, rethink your processes here. It’s not safe, you can still be “transparent” with funding without jeopardizing the best of our communities peoples willing to support and sustain.

XMR is a good currency however it is complex to use, no easy wallet software and cannot be audited.

BCH atleast offers cash fusion which is on-par with XMR ring signatures and is easy to use and cheap to transact with.

If you wish to make a one-time payment in XMR or other non-listed currency. Send me a PM.

How about some bills corked in a bottle and tossed in the ocean? Been here some time and would give some but I’m not getting in all the E money crap. I can’t stand my normal bank as it is

I would donate $100.00 right now if I could. I'm not familiar with bitcoin, and quite frankly, I'm insecure about trying to use it. If there was an alternative method of donating funds, a wire transfer, mailing a cashiers check, or money order, maybe a personal check. I'm really hesitant to deal with bit coin in fear of the unknown. My hope is for Zooville to remain functional, and available to zoo minded folks like myself. Bitcoin reminds me of a saying: 'it's the pioneers that take the arrows'.

Send me a PM! Its not difficult at all, and is far more anon than the methods you listed.

I suppose apples and oranges could work. I'm very leery for our financial system these days. Funds can dissappear from your account and you report it, and you ask about it you get 'were investigating' and never get a resolve.. Writing a paper check, put it in the mail worked, with out any complications. It one of those things: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

Bad Idea, for that to work this operation would have to be public - else someone could get the address of the owner by saying "I want to donate to you"

Uh. You realize that paper checks are even more insecure than electronic transactions, right? To use a check all a person needs is your routing number and account number, both of which are clearly written right on the check. Anyone who gets a hold of a check can commit fraud with the information right on it.

Zooville Accepts Crypto Donations
04-12-2019, 01:31 PM

*Zooville is partially funded by a single ad space on the main page. We kindly ask to disable ad blocker for zooville.org.

We want to thank you all for your support of zooville.org, and we wish for this site to continue for the foreseeable future. As such, the mod team have decided to keep transparency between the users and management team as clear as possible. We understand the issues that could have lead to the downfall of previous forums, and this is why we will seek to remedy such issues with a clear, concise, and logical approach to funding a home for the zoo community.

We wish this site to remain a non-profit platform, but there is expense's involved with running a site like this. DDOS protection, spam protection, server costs, bandwidth and maintenance all cost time and money. It is mostly one individual who is funding the site currently, and we all should be very grateful for that gift. That person also recognizes that is only fair for others to help in easing the burden, and if/when zooville reaches a certain size, it will be a very heavy burden.

The moderation team is volunteer, sacrificing hours of their lives here in support of the zoo community and that sacrifice isn't a small one. We do so, because we love and care for all those we can call our extended zoo family. This keeps costs down, and means less burden on us and for you in funding zooville.

The current costs as of 9/7/2020 are 2400$ Per Year. At current loads, this is roughly 200$ per month, more or less. We will post upgrade notice's and if there was any increase or decrease in expenses, they will be made here.

You can check zooville's balance sheet
HERE & HERE

As of 9/7/2020, we have a balance of 4992.89$ at current prices. We'd like to thank you for donating to zooville and supporting the zoo community!

In sending your donation, there is a nature of market force's involved due to the volatility of crypto-currency's, as such we will attempt to mitigate such events through careful diversification and selling-as-we-receive. Its is NOT unusual to see a -20% or +20% swing in a fews days or weeks. Unfortunately, there is no other viable method in funding zooville, but it should be comforting that your donation itself, sent in a crypto-currency, cannot be intervened with.

Thank you,
ZooVille Mod Team

The title of "ZooVille Philanthropist" will be awarded to users who give more than 50$ in support of the community.

I hate to bother you, but I was wondering what the state of the site is regarding funds. I was also wondering if the cost to host the site has gone up or if it has stayed the same.

You can see the deposits and current balances on the links provided.

Hosting is still about 2400$ per year

Is it possible to help by Paypal ?
Don't think so, not to mention that would be a TERRIBLE idea. You'd be outing yourself and no respectable person in ZV would tell you to do anything that would give away your personal information. Nor would the mod team allow that.

One thing that puzzles me, how would you (the site admin/manager) know which user has send an donation, if it's send anonymously trough bitcoin?
I already have some money in my coinbase, ready to send, though I can't PM you (yet) due to lurker status.
