Hi!

Does anyone have experience training cows here? A paddock near me has quite a few cows there, however they are very skittish and run off at any approach.

Their bull is a bit more friendly, so I'm inching my way in, bribing then with food etc.

Cows do come to eat but still do run off at any approach.

Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to get them more trusting?

Those cows are probably a beef breed and are not as calm as the dairy breeds. Are you friendly with the owner?..if not then be careful of the bull. If you walk slowly through the cows every day they will get to know you and trust you. Tempting the friendly ones with food is a good idea..but keep it in your hand and let them take it...but no sudden movements as they scare easy.

yeah, beef cows are generally very weary of strangers, n usually even of their owners, unless they was hand raised. Mainly cozz theys not handled on a daily basis like dairy cows. A grain bucket can be the best tool, but still best to hand raise your own.
