Give us a bit more info, is she intact or desexed. is she narrow for a shepherd or does the cross she is from appear broad hips.
General yes you could hurt her, but you are probably not as big as the male of the same size so not likely. If she is around 2 years of age and intact then you are ready to party. If she is younger you will have to see how she goes physically and mentally.
If she is desexed before her first heat you probably have little chance. Other than that time and practice will be your solution.
