Best breed for Apartment with restrictions

so I will soon may be moving to an apt that allows dogs but has size and breed restrictions like most of the places where I live do, the restrictions are a 50 lb limit and no bully breeds or German shepherds... wondering about some breeds that fit those criteria that are also able to be well trained in general.

You may be able to get by with a Labrador. Or any other smaller. But with the way pet restrictions are, I wouldn't be surprised if they claim a lab is a bully breed. Huskies that are normally smaller even make the list.

My last place had a 50lb size limit. They allowed me to have my 90lb Golden. Just ask before you even fill out the application and depending on the breed they may be willing to ok an exception.

They're so talkative so Huskies could you into trouble with the neighbors.

Are you looking for a male or a female companion? Knowing this helps because many dog breeds have size differences between the sexes.

If your in apartment, consider
1. Destructive
2. Barking
3. Shedding
4. Activity level

You won’t find one breed with all you’ll have to compromise on something.

I'd ask for a special weight waiver and that you need your (one or two) Great Dane emotional support dogs. Great Danes are very well behaved dogs (who think they are small--really they do) and as crazy as itbsound they are excellent apartment dogs. I will suggest you get brother pups at 6 weeks. It's important to get two dogs to be good company and fun for outside walks. It's really not that much more to breed with two than the one. Yes they'll take turns.

The only downside is they live seven to nine years. So I'd start raising a second set of pups when first dogs are five or six yrs old.

It's very hard to part with loyal friends and lovers but it's a price Dane owners must pay for such a sweet breed.

I doubt that they would bust out yee old dog weight machine . As long as it's close enough they won't know the difference between a 70 lb dog to a 50 lb dog. Get yourself a mutt and just pretend you know the breed like I do. He's a "southern Bermuda yard dog"

Maybe a Greyhound could work, they tend to be couch potatoes and they are in the weight limit. They can get a little heavier but still close enough, I doubt it will be noticed. They don't normally bark a lot so thats another reason they are good apartment dogs.

They are prone to separation anxiety, So, you would need to focus on that and socializing them.

All dogs can be friendly and greyhounds are friendly when socialized so honestly I don't think that would be too much of a problem but I do get what you mean. It will be based on how the dog is raised and the environment it's in
