Animal food question

Is there ill effects if a dog eats cat food or vise versa. Just to keep in knowledge to know if there are connections between health issues and spillage "cleanups".

If so why does it effect them so?

(Is this the wrong thread? Or is it on animal companions?)

From my experience there are not ill effects if it happens once in a while and is not a constant thing.

Your dog probably won't be harmed by eating some cat food now and then, but it isn't something you should give him on a consistent basis.

Dogs love cat food because the meat smell and flavor are so strong. Oh and cat poop...lol
