Has anyone ever done this? I'm curious bc I intend on owning one or two one day and want to know what I'm getting myself into ? mainly ligers and lions, since lions are safer than tigers? and the list is privately owned pets!

That list is useless because it gives no reference to per capita or per contact. All it would take to skew the numbers spectacularly would be a species natural range overlapping with high human population densities. You know, like Tigers in India?

The list is pets!

Pets AND zoo keepers

What he didn't mention.....

approximately 260 exotic cat attacks that resulted in injuries that were probably severe or fatal. Of this number, 89 occurred in zoos, and 50 of these zoos were or are AZA accredited.

Around 60 were private pet owners, and 33 were private exhibitors. 37 were circuses, 17 were 'sanctuaries'/charities, and 18 couldn't be determined.

Trends in Attack Incidences
All of these numbers are approximations to account for any errors I might have made with the numbers or appropriate categorization, and the undeniable presence of less serious attacks that have not been documented online. Some incidences on the list did not state the name of the facility or owner, and I couldn't determine the nature of the situation. No incidences were placed in more than one category.
There Were Approximately:
  • 8 incidences where an attack occurred because a zookeeper didn't properly secure the lock outdoor before entering the cage for cleaning.
  • 100 attacks from animals performing in a show, in the cage with the keeper, or being taken for a walk in public (direct contact).
  • 25 attacks were from escaped exotic cats.
  • 18 attacks from authorized contact (petting) with the cats.
  • 38 attacks from unauthorized contact with the cats (zoo visitor jumping barriers, break-ins, etc.).
  • 3 attack from a leashed, unattended animal to a member of the public.
  • 1 accidental fall in the enclosure
  • 28 incidents where big cats attacked by reaching out through the enclosure (attempts were not being made to touch the animal).
  • 7 attacks from animals being moved from one cage to another.
  • 4 incidences that didn't fall in any of the above categories.
  • 27 incidences where sufficient information to determine the mode of attack (but not the type of owner) was not available.

I work with big cats now and again, and from personal experience, Lions tend to be more affectionate than say Tigers or Ligers. but this is just an observation and should not be taken as Gospel.

Big cats have rather small tools, plus they're not domesticated, no matter how tame the may gotten they're still wild at heart

Let me say, you are hoping at best! I met a zoo friend on B/f and he and his friends run a small self ran exotic animal park.

Over all the years of interaction he had with the big cats. He had tigers, lions
In all the time he spent with them he can only touch then trough the fence once in a while.

The only way I see this happening is if you take classes for being a big cat handler getting all the licences then waiting on the off chance to adopt a young feline. Then raise with love.

If the animal dosent grow up with you from a cub I would never put my life on the line just to get my dick wet.

You can get away from a dog.. Not a big cat, your lunch if so desired

Big cats are more likely to attack in zoos/sanctuaries than they are private owners. & I'm going to get USDA licensed & raise them from cubhood. I'm not an idiot.

I've heard mountain lions are the "best" big cat for private owners. Well, really, it's cheetahs. But cheetahs have become exceedingly rare recently - at least in the US. Don't think a cheetah would be large enough for penetration, anyway.

Unless you are rich and can afford to properly take care and even train the animals.. no. Its not a dog, at all. Raising a big cat is also a daily habit and commitment, not something you do on the side for fun. And actually, tigers are probably the most docile and easy going cats, reason there are so many attacks, is actually because tigers are the most popular exotic pet, lot more tigers than lions. I don't need to explain statistics.

I'm going to wait until i have a lot of money before even attempting to get a big cat. And the most docile big cat is the cheetah, then the snow leopard. Animals will be my life. I know that to be able to care for a big cat is a huge privilege. And none of my animals will be my sex-toys. I know a lot about exotic pets because I've always wanted to own them growing up. And now I want to get my career started for my animals. My life is my husband, then animals. Animals are not my "hobby."

If you anally masturbated yourself with a toothbrush and liked it, then it is worth a try. That's basically how those barbs feel.

I have no idea either way what lioness pussy or, for that matter, any kind of pussy feels like, being a homosexual.

Well when you add "Of course" at the end of "Ima try to develop sexual relations with them" Sounds like they may be sex toys... But let us know how boning a tiger works, before you're the bone that the tiger is cleaning his teeth is.

What experience do you actually have with wild animals? Animal planet doesn't count. I can say I have experience as a police officer because I watched LivePD.

Sometimes I wonder about users like this.

Yep - 'bout the same as the idjit over on the zebra-cumshot thread who's convinced he's gonna get boned by a zebra stud. After 50 years of working with equines, including a stint that involved dealing with a small herd of zebras (which included an intact stud) in "up close and personal" mode, I know - not "I think", not "I suspect", not "I believe", but *I* *KNOW* - he's got the same chance of surviving the attempt as a snowflake has to come out of a blast furnace intact. Hell, even with my lifetime worth of equine experience, I won't work with zebras again, never mind attempt anything sexual with them!

This guy has the same thing going, only with big cats instead of zebras.

Fuggit, sez I - You wanna take yourself out of the gene-pool, more power to ya. Unfortunately, when you die in the attempt, you're going to generate more negative press for zoophiles/bestialists. Of course, with every bad thing, there's almost always at least a crumb of good... In this case, that good would be the fact that the idiot's death will increase the average intelligence of the human species by several points.

Even a stud Zebra won't mess with big cats!

I have to agree the Tigers were I work occasionally are not to be trusted. The 2 year old lion I got to full on body hug while his friends got fed as he had been to the Vet.

Ligers I have not dealt with.

The fun game is too have your back to the cages and turn around and watch all those cats innocently do something less obvious than stalking you.

if you approach the cage of Large Cat, and it is doing this... 20150419_111036.jpg

Back off immediately. this is a stalking pounce posture. the next thing that will occur is the cat will charge you.
I have seen a 700 pound Tiger Deform a chain-link fence up to 3' on contact with the fence.

You know the saddest thing ? IF this idiot does happen to get his hands on an exotic animal ( eg as in "rare/endangered) and that animal attacks or even kills him..guess which rare animal will wind up being killed because it's "dangerous" ? There goes one more nail hammered into the species coffin :(
