User Permission Updates and Forum Changes

Hello ZooVille!

I'm just giving everyone a heads up that the user privilege permissions have been updated on the forum, along with some other changes to the layout.

NEW User Permissions:

  • To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum.
  • Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
  • Note: that if you do not meet these new requirements, you may lose access to the ability to send new PMs until you meet both thresholds.

PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.

Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:

  • The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
  • This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
  • The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
  • "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.

These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.

Thank you for your understanding on the matter.

Thank youuuu!!!

It's a good change in my opinion just annoying as well for those of us that just joined before the 20 post/30 day requirement and met the previous 10 post requirements.

😑

Because your account was made before July '21 and grandfathered in. Still, I don't know how you could have gone all that time without seeing you could message some and not others and then looking to figure out why. Have you no human curiosity?
I lack this and just sometimes veer off to do other things after signing on here maybe lack of attention span

Why are PMs so hard to unlock? Do people really "break the rules" in PMs?
Does a bear shit in the woods?

People break the rules in plain sight daily. MOST of these cunts who try to take you offsite to "chat" do so because they KNOW they'll get smoked here for discussing whatever pedophile BS they want to get you offsite to "discus"

I've personally been ghosted about 400 times by asshats who bring up pedo shit that I don't bite on and ask more about. Not that I was too enthusiastic about chatting with said clowns in the 1st place, but once they bring that shit up, I find it amusing to see how hard they try to push that line when I refuse to even acknowledge whatever pedo soft-pedal shit they tried to float me.

There is EXACTLY ONE cure for a pedophile. I can't name it directly here, but I sure wish I was legally allowed to deliver the cure to any and all pedos.

While I haven't penetration tested it, I'm pretty sure.

The forum software has user permission redundancy. Every account will have 2 places where an account will have permissions set. One is the base level (selectable) and the other is promotional (checkmark-able.) Basically when the 2021 promotion change was added, it set the new base level (selectable) permission to a new lower base level moving forward. However the pre-2021 accounts still had the, then and now, second level of promotion already selected. Because the initial "first level" became the "second level" moving forward. So pre-2021 accounts basically get treated as if they are on the second level of promotion instead of first level, because they are in the selectable section but not the checkmark-able section.

When you create a new account it'll set the selectable to first level, and when they meet the threshold for the next level, it'll checkmark the next level of promotion. It's basically stackable. The pre-2021 accounts still get the stackable checkmark-able permissions applied, but their base level is higher than post-2021 accounts.

However, unlike in 2021, I didn't add a new promotion. The main change I made was that I upped the promotion criteria of the already existing promotion. The forum software will not unselect the selectable base level automatically, but it should uncheck a promotion if they no longer meet the criteria to have it.
Here's an example:
Account created 2024, currently only 13 posts, hasn't lost PM button with new change.

Question? How can I tell how many post I have done would it be classified as messages when I look at my profile

Bravo!!! I believe this was a much needed change the perry messages asking inappropriate messages to jerk off to was a bit disheartening when I joined this community for education and for in lack of better terms a community that has the support we were looking for

Here's an example:
Account created 2024, currently only 13 posts, hasn't lost PM button with new change.
I found a few more accounts. What they seem to all share in common is that they haven't logged in since the change was made. The ones that have logged in recently, and no longer meet criteria, have their second level of promotion unchecked.

I can continue to monitor it, but I have a feeling that the cron is simply skipping their accounts untill they're active again.

Generally a lurker here. Will I get blocked from the domain for not having posted anything at all? I don't have any use currently to access pms, just wanna browse threads and go about my day. I've tried browsing since and had the server seemingly blocked from me. A guys just anxious to post here :(

Most of the new update is cool I’m fine as been a member long enough but I think the 30 day thing to be able to use pms is abit much if at least half it maybe?

Agreed. One user I was following had 13 comments and the DM button was there. After he logged in, the DM button disappeared.

In theory, it is still possible to send DMs to members during this transitional period, but once he logs in, it is no longer possible. However, he can reply to the DMs that were there before, because the DM thread has already been created.
