LOL, let's say in the future zoophilia gets considered a legitimate sexuality and interspecies marriage is legalized. Would you marry your pet? Or what animal would you marry?
 
The dinos in those stories are human level sentient. Any other animal would not understand the meaning of a marriage.
 
You're already lovers and you know their lives are so short, somehow that gets to me to the point where some part of me holds back from committing too hard emotionally. When my black lab died (of old age) I was a wreck for a long time because I allowed myself to really fall in love with him which isn't something I'm going to do again.

Every dog owner has a strong emotional connection with their dogs. I think it's even stronger when you have a sexual relationship with them. I believe you will have some emotional connection even if you don't want to. Sorry to hear about your loss tho
 
Everyone treats marriage differently, but I think it be so cute if people were able to marry their pets as a sign of love and commitment.

It be a nice way to say you're into bestiality without having to go into explicit details.
Just like people understand that if two humans are married they are having sex and being intimate, they would assume the same of someone married to their animal.

maybe you are just looking in the wrong direction. Instead of looking back in time and without solving Fermi's, the future holds possibilities of uplifting another species!

it just means meditation. Like i enjoy the fact that I have to redraw his paw print every day as it is a coconscious act that I have to make and requires me to stop and focus and think of him. plus I am indecisive as hell so I like picking out where to place his print to match my mood, on my breast if I am lonely, my bum if I am feeling cheeky, my wrist if I am going to have a difficult day and need to see a constant reminder of him etc.

Historically the species that survived global extinctions were small animals, insects and surprisingly dinosaurs as birds. :p
So after us, the dinos might finally get a chance. :D
Parrots would be especially good at cussing in online arguments.

As for aliens. Yeah, they will have a different religion, so either we annihilate them or they annihilate us because one of us will not believe in "our" Jesus.
