Anyone ever tried using methyl p-hydroxybenzoate as a "perfume"?

1. Scent Detection (Pheromones)

  • Pheromones in Urine:
    • Female dogs release pheromones in their urine when they are in heat, particularly during the estrus phase (the fertile stage). These pheromones contain chemical signals that male dogs can detect from long distances.
    • The pheromone methyl p-hydroxybenzoate is particularly attractive to male dogs.
  • Jacobson’s Organ (Vomeronasal Organ):
    • Male dogs use this specialized organ located in their nasal cavity to process pheromones. They may exhibit a behavior called the Flehmen response (curling their lips back and lifting their nose) to better analyze the scent.

It’s interesting, but I doubt to use this, if in addition it is to smell the old piss of bitch, I pass my turn! :censored:.
(Because I doubt it feels anything else in the man’s nose 😅😇)

Oh this is interesting, but can you really get it as a perfum of some short? It would be nice to get more atrective for my boy

Really? Can you send the link please? Maybe ill look more into it c:
i just searched buy methyl p-hydroxybenzoate. Id say you would need to dilute it or find a way to aerate it into the room but it seems like it isnt too toxic, used as food additive in some cases. Always be cautious though

Sorry, but that's probably NOT the chemical that signals male dogs. While it can be found in the vaginal secretions of dogs, studies do not show that methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate (aka, Methyl paraben) is the active chemical.
Ten female dogs of different breeds were used. Urine samples from bitches collected during various stages of the ovarian cycle were examined with using the SPME and GC/MS methods. Methyl paraben was not detected in any of the samples. In conclusion, because of the lack of methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate in the samples examined, the present study confirmed negative opinions on the possibility of this substance playing a crucial role in semiochemical communication during reproduction in dogs (Canis familiaris).

hmmm thx for the info. Still only one study, but looks pretty convincing. would be good to see if it can be reproduced. In any case, bitch urine def involved

100%, there's definitely something triggering that reaction in male dogs. I really hope there are more studies in the future that can try to isolate what it might be.
