Bit of odd History. This is a Leather-bound copy of "The Rubaiyàt" of Omar Khayyam. Gilt, and 1200 precious stones... Sapphires, Rubies, Topazes...adorned this tome, fittingly, I think. It was being shipped to a new owner in the US....on RMS Titanic.

It is an Australian dish, one I love because it is so messy. I just checked and the oldest recipe written down seems to be by a lady called Emily Futter, in the early 1900s. So, not Escoffier. Honey, don't dis the French!

Getting the customer to buy a canned product is only part of it. It has to look good to them when they open the can and, just me, that wouldn't be a very appetizing sight. Love the ad, though!
