Ask a homosexual the same about switching their sexuality, it's no different for those of us who are zoo exclusive, whether or not some have sexual attractions to humans or only want a platonic relationship with one there's no "giving up" being zoosexual, it's what we are.

The misunderstanding probably stems from the fact that some people claim to be zoo-exclusive, but at the same time they are looking for a human companion. These people are actually "normal" zoophiles, not zoo-exclusives.

Still, zooexclisive does not necessarily imply being sociofugue or hating/ not wanting humans around.

Mutual help, company, conversation, whatever with likeminded folk is always welcome. It is just you just do not need them in an emotional "significant other" sense, and if at some point you need to decide between person and animal, you do not even need to think about it.

Yeah. Exclusive zoophile does not mean that you hate people, are antisocial, introverted, etc. It means that he is not sexually, emotionally or romantically attracted to (or even repulsed by) people, only animals.
A zoo-exclusive person has friends and close friends too, he is "not lonely".
These are the misconceptions I read most often.

Of course, it is also true that the zoo-exclusive lifestyle is the refuge of many antisocial people.
 
I know several that might have found trusted zoo friends, but never paired off seemingly due to lack of compatibility and general scarcity.

I'm consider myself exclusive for now and its less common than you think out of
all the zoos here maybe 2% are exclusive the rest are not. I don't have feelings for people for multiple reasons but mostly it's because I don't find the human body attractive.

To this I respond no way in hell. In the case that I do find some special person either that person is going to be another zoo or I am not sticking around. I will give up on my projects my job and move across the world before giving this up. Plus the only reason to find someone in my case would be to have a battle buddy basically just someone who will help solve problems as they come up in life. Also maybe just to have someone to talk to cause nobody else will understand my point of view or my problems like another zoo would.

I'm absurdly lucky in that a few of those closest to me know about my lifestyle and accept it and they even partake themselves. I don't think I could be zoo-exclusive though.

No I wouldn't change at all. Prefer the companionship of an animal far more than that of people.

I would say that some people could be looking for a human companion yet still be "zoo-exclusive". Just like some in the asexual community may still look for a romantic relationship with another person without looking for a sexual relationship. This could be the same for zoos, looking for human romantic partners but not sexual ones.

But that does depend on how you would define being zoo-exclusive; is it just sexual relationships or does it also encompass romantic relationships?

Myself I would say that it isn't so much binary as you are an exclusive or you're not but, not to sound cliche, more of a spectrum and where you fall on there.

Seems to me there's no real change in ratio of the groups, which suggests it's just the representation of the greater number of people on the internet now as compared to the 90's (especially early on). I readily acknowledge there's built-in sampling bias and that this is merely my opinion.
 
I would have to say it is probably double in popularity due to the internet most people find zoo porn on accident and fall in love w it like myself
