White stuff on dogs penis

What is the white stuff on my friends dogs penis?? How can it be cleaned off without hurting the dog?

Is it off white, slightly yellow or green? That would be smegma and it’s perfectly normal so don’t “clean it off” his penis. Anything on the outside of the sheath can be wiped off with a damp cloth if he’s cool with it though, to avoid spotting furniture. Have your friend mention it at the next vet visit if you’re worried and make an appointment sooner if it suddenly gets worse.
