I’m slightly confused because I only saw this after seeing others comment on posts about it elsewhere. However before even checking posts I replied to a DM I got with no issues. Yet when I check my post history I’ve only ever made 9 posts… well 10 now with this one. Are we sure it’s “20 posts AND 30 days” and not “20 posts OR 30 days”? I only pop in here once in a blue moon so it’s interesting to see what’s changed.

You account was made before the ORIGINAL restriction changes in July of '21. You're grandfathered in. You've NEVER had any restrictions on anything and this change didn't change that.

Oh neat! I had no idea. That’s really funny then. All this time here and still a lurker though. I really gotta check in more often. Thanks for the explanation as to why. It all makes sense now.

This is a known problem unrelated to the update. Read this carefully:
Hello ZooVille!
I'm just giving everyone a heads up that the user privilege permissions have been updated on the forum, along with some other changes to the layout.
NEW User Permissions:
- To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum.
- Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
- Note: that if you do not meet these new requirements, you may lose access to the ability to send new PMs until you meet both thresholds.
PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.
Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:
- The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
- This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
- The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
- "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.
These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.

Another update: October 4th, 2025: Changes to Groups...
As of October 4th, 2025: The ability to create new groups in the social groups area of the forum has been disabled for all members. This is mainly because there's too many of them already, and our moderators are not able to effectively moderate them due to issues with the plug-in itself. The groups plug-in is, quite frankly, broken. If this update is reversed, I'll let everyone know. But for the time being you may join groups, leave groups, interact with groups, post threads, post photos, post events, etc. but you will not be able to create NEW groups.

But now confusion arises. I have reached 20 posts and I joined 179 days ago (May 10, 2025). I'm still unable to access private messages and I can't use the search function. No access to chat. From what I can see, nothing has changed for me although my profile does acknowledge 20 posts and accurately shows May 10 as the date I signed up here. I'm not asking anyone to specifically check my numbers, just wondering if it's hourly, daily, weekly or some other time period?

You don't have enough qualified posts. Fun & Games or Profile posts don't count towards unlocking DM.

Thank you for clarification regarding the differentiation between qualified posts and unqualified posts. It would be helpful if the display on profiles showed the number of qualified posts rather than the current display that shows only the overall number of posts including meaningless, unqualified posts. I am sometimes more dense than I would like to be, so forgive my density here: am I correct now in believing posts I make on my own profile are not qualified?You don't have enough qualified posts. Thank you for the information about time delay. I also learned from another user that not all posts count toward the 20-post requirement. I appreciate both pieces of information, very helpful and important to know.

Can speak for my profile only, the post count didn't raised when i did "game & Fun" posts so i asume the shown post count is for the qualified posts only

Thank you for pointing out that every profile shows messages. But my point is that it would be helpful if that number displays posts/messages that qualify toward the minimum requirement. My profile shows 23 messages, but as I have learned, not all 23 of my messages qualify for the 20-post minimum. But I appreciate your input and help.
Like you mentioned, I noticed that my message count did not increase after posting in "game & Fun", so I thought number of messages shown on profile indicated qualified posts only. But it seems that is not the case. I appreciate everyone's input and responses. I'm not trying to make this into a huge issue or controversy. I just wanted to know what I have done in error so that I can correct or add meaningful content.

It IS the counted posts. That number is THE number that the system uses to grant permissions.

Excuse me that my first language isnt English and wether just commenting counts towards it or if i need to make topics or so.

Any post (comment) will count, only section the posts won't count is "Games & Fun".
