Like, just look at a perfect example of this, the entire FNaF series as a whole, it's only been 7 years since the first entry, yet in that short time it has grown to be one of the biggest and most well known horror series ever made. I mean, we started with one small, enclosed room
And now we have this gigantic megaplex
No one could've seen this coming. Hell, the series holds a special place in my heart as it's directly because of FNaF that I met my boyfriend

There's a difference between "progress" and just mindlessly churning out cloned "sequel" games to profit off a surprise smash hit.

If I'm not mistaken the creator of Freddies had to step away from making them after churning out the first 4 or 5 of them in the course of like a year and a half completely burnt out and sick of having to push them to fill fan demand.
