I was told about it today and wonder if anyone here uses it to message privately and with everything encrypted, including files and images.

It is allowed in the Zooville groups. ZV groups already have hundreds of invite links and telegram/session/kik/discord... usernames you can try to contact.
Use that.
To join groups you need at least 10 posts and have PMs enabled (also explained in the rules)

In other cases have people send you a private message and exchange groups this way.

I started using it recently. It was recommended as a secure way to chat. Your IP is hidden through multiple service nodes in a decentralized network. I have Signal also, but you need a phone number. It's supposed to be encrypted, as well.

Now that I've said all that is anything really 100% safe? I don't know, but so far both those have worked for me.
 
Amazon bought wickr didn’t bite dust Amazon shut it down. I have sessions but haven’t used yet but like the idea of it no phone number required.
 
Session was recently recommended to me. I've downloaded it but have not gotten a chance to use it. Is there a community on here that likes to get together to chat? I'd love some live correspondence.
 
I use it as well but had to get a new phone and forgot my recovery phrase and so I lost all my groups and friends. So if you or anyone else has any groups or would like to be friends on it please feel free to message me for my friend code.

was one, but i didnt log in for a while and an updated must of gotten the history wrong and lost them. its understandble as its a little hard to find something that has no attachment to anyone bar the ID which needs a rememberable code which is crazily hard to remeber so once its gone its gone?

I just copy codes I don’t want to lose and save them somewhere secure.
 
I have started using Session recently, pretty good app, especially liked the fact that it is not asking for a phone number to use it. There are some minor issues I have seen while sharing images, maybe from the encryption, but does not seem to be a major bug. Good alternative to Wickr.

Major reason I went for Session is the new common behavior of a mandatory phone number requirement for the apparently secure encrypted apps that are more popular nowadays, and I am not a big fan of it. Of course we can use virtual phone numbers etc, but it is too much of a hassle. Session wins here. Earlier, Wickr and Wire were there, but either of those options are having challenges now.
 
wish more people would use it but it seems like it's catching on at least. anything is better than telegram but even that still a million times better than discord, cant fucking believe people talk about zoo there
