question about if dogs have preferences

This came across my mind as I (23M) was looking through the forums. I am wondering if dogs get more excited/feel more natural with a girl who has a lot of pubic hair due to it feeling more normal for them? My gf (24) hasn't shaved for 7-8 months now and has a pretty huge bush, and I'm wondering if a dog would enjoy that more than if she was bare.

There was a cool experiment with rats and funny rat dresses. After the female rats with dresses mated with the males, those same males preferred the female rats with dresses. Maybe that will help you adress better your curiosity

did they mix the dresses at any point to prove they make any difference or did they merely find out that rats can be monogamous?

best suggestion is to experiment, dogs can develop preferences like their owners but often it comes down to mental independence. How much do they think on their own? how much training do they receive to be more conscious about their decisions? and sometimes it just genetics.

In simple terms it's random if a dog has independent thought to choose between to options. Often they do whatever their owners do, unless taught otherwise. But not always.

If I were to guess, dogs probably have more of a preference to smells. They like smells that seem stinky to us and they probably are sensitive to strong chemical smelling deodorants and soaps we like and use. Since they use their nose and tongue like we use our fingers, their sense of smell is likely the main preference they'd lean toward.

I guess if you're not fresh out of the shower, being hairy could make all the smells more... concentrated? Dunno, I doubt it would have any significant difference. Even if that was the case, it wouldn't really be about prefference, but rather about being more noticable for them.
