I believe there is maybe a small effect on muscle strength for single takes. One of the reason is the protocol they use to assess the strengh (hand held dynanometers vs. isokinetic), the second one is more sensitive and lower the p-value. Then you have positive studies. There is maybe a positive effect for reaction time and coordination too.

Sport people want to dope and there's research about boosting. You know... stupid comptetion.

Although let's be honest, most smokers do tend to lean toward the "bad" end of the spectrum and use it as a crutch unfortunately.

Since automobile manufactures quit putting ash trays in cars have you noticed how many butts lay along side the road. I was in Phoenix recently stopped at a light in the left turn lane. I looked out and against the cement barrier was over a foot of butts. Just sayin. Keep your butt to yourself.

I've got no clue what filters are made of. I think I've heard fibreglass before as well. I just assumed buddy was right about some sort of plastic because thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen a mostly-degraded butt. They seem to last forever.

Ash is no joke. Dozens of towns around the world are modern day Pompeii's. Buried under 5 feet of cigarette ash. We'll dig them out, someday...

In the bad old days, the filters in some cigarettes were made of asbestos. That makes me wonder about smoking studies - if they took that into account.
