I think my friend's mare has a vaginal infection or its been fucked by someone... need some advice...

Basically long story short, Im taking care of my friend's mare as she is off sick, and i dont have a relationship with her mare or anything but one day i noticed cum like fluid dripping from the vulva and that made me worry for 2 things 1. an infection 2. being accused of fucking it, so how do i deal with this certain circumstance and what if someone had sex with her without me knowing (if vet finds out they may report it as its illegal here)? She is a non pregnant mare, Should i call the vet?

1) Is it ongoing, or a one-off? As in: "I once saw a glob of what looked like jizz on her girl-parts", versus "she's got a glob of something every time I see her".
2) What's the color/texture? Chunky/clumpy, like cottage cheese? (Yeast infection, almost certainly - probably stinks, too) Clear slime? (may be nothing but her normal juices, may be problem - more info needed to decide) Looks like actual jizz? etc.
3) Is she in heat - I assume, since you're horse-sitting, that you're qualified to tell?
3A) Is she turned out with a male (with or without balls)?
4) Is there a foul smell? (rotting meat/fishy/moldy/yeasty)
5) Any signs of blood in the whatever-it-is you're seeing? If yes, get with a vet ASAP and straight to hell with what might get reported - the problem may be life-threatening serious.

Getting much more specific than that needs a bunch more information, and may require hands-on inspection, (and to the inevitable wankers, no, I'm not talking about "lemme come play with your mare", so put your dicks back in your pants) sample collection, culture and look at it through the microscope, and so on.

*IN GENERAL*, a mare is pretty well "self-cleaning" back there, and if the discharge isn't "nasty" (either visually or stinky) and she doesn't show a fever or other signs of being sick, it's *PROBABLY* nothing significant.

1.it's happened twice in a span of 3 days
2.the texture is a tiny bit thicker than your average human cum
3.no she is not in heat and she is not turned out with any males,
4.no foul smells or anything at all
5.no blood present
Above is for both encounters, (i might need to borrow a microscope from university for scientific purposes..)
Hopefully she will be better soon thanks

I've been living around horses (mostly mares) 20 years, starting at birth. I've seen the vet many times for numerous cases, but never ever for a vaginal infection.

Now, I've been digging a bit. If the heat has been very hot for her, it is not uncommon to have a bit of fluid leaking like you describe. If a mare is in heat, you know since her behavior changes. Did you notice this? Another thing which is common, the uterus can get dirty. Before breeding the vet flushes the uterus to make sure it's clean.

Anyway, there are a few explanations instead of someone having sex with her. Please read up on mares, their cycle, behavioral changes during heat and what vets do before a mare gets to a stallion or is inseminated. Flushing the uterus is common practice since the fertilized egg won't survive in a dirty uterus.

You can always consult the owner or a vet.

Based on what you've described, I'd be doing the "keep an eye and see if anything more develops" thing, but not sweating it overly much. Sounds to me like she's just "leaking" a bit - not uncommon, especially if she might be getting close to coming into heat.

One thing you MIGHT look at is checking if she's got a clit-bean and getting rid of it for her if you find one. Most horse folk are aware that geldings and stallions get "beans" that need to be taken care of, but only a very few know that a mare can get a bean in the clitoris - EXACTLY like a male gets, just proportionally smaller - and that it can become infected and nasty. But I doubt this is the case, since on the rare occasions when it happens, it's usually pretty smelly, and you report no odor, and as often as not, when it does happen, the resulting "stuff" that the mare starts to leak has at least traces of blood, which you also say she isn't showing. To check, if she'll allow you to handle her back there, you need to be checking the most-groundward part of the clitoris - and I mean the clitoris itself, not just the folds of labia enclosing it - feeling for something harder than the surrounding tissue. Depending on her coloration back there, you may or may not be able to do a useful visual inspection and see an opening near the end of the clitoris, and possibly see something almost like a blackhead poking out of it. If you can detect a bean, it'll usually feel like a hard little "rod" running lengthwise down the clitoris, just under the surface. If she'll let you, find the base of the "rod" with your fingers, and gently but firmly press and massage it up toward the opening near the tip to try to squeeze it out. Do your best to avoid fingernail-contact, for reasons that should be obvious. Depending on how solid it is, it may goosh out like a popped zit, or it may be a fairly hard chunk, like a tiny stone. Either way, milk it up toward and through the opening if you can so as to get rid of it.

As for the suspicion that somebody is getting it on with her on the sneak, the only way I know of to be sure is stand watch over her, either via camera or in person. Obviously, this may or may not be either practical, or of any use, depending on several factors that only someone "on the scene" can decide are or aren't relevant.

Sometimes a mare coming into or exiting heat will have a thick yellowish fluid they excrete from their reproductive track. It smells distinctly mareish amd not foul like an infection.
