One second thought that's a little unfair. Not everyone can drop a hundred bucks on a toy after all, even more so if it's not something you're sure you'd like.

Serious question: Can't one mitigate the risk of using cheaper toys made with sketchy materials by covering with a condom? I recognize this is not going to work for your Clydesdale toy, but for the "normal" sized knotted toys I would think a condom would provide a protective barrier and make clean up easier.

I wouldn't have the equipment or knowledge to test that, but that sounds like a good idea.
