Ever Drink Yourself Sober?

First things first. If this is in the wrong section, I apologize (but I figured since it's "General Discussion" it should be okay).

So I'm a raging alcoholic who loves a nice Vodka Cocktail every now-and-then (meaning any time I'm not working, although it'd be nice to since my job is ultra demanding) lol BUT I don't condone drinking on the job nor do I condone drinking and driving.

But I digress.. I drank a liter of Vodka yesterday in about 6 hours, slept for 2 and now am Sobered up (with a 3 day weekend so it's ok). I am Irish so maybe that's why? We Irish like our Booze (usually Whiskey since Vodka is for the Russians).

Maybe I'm still drunk and just rambling, but I don't feel it since I haven't fallen down or bitched about my neighbors yet :p

Any stories from you guys? I'd like to hear 'em! :)
 
omg i wish! haha ? big time rum fan here and sometimes i drink bc otherwise ill just sleep haha but i never drank myself sober ? is that even a thing??

For me it is and it sucks! I drink for a reason, to get drunk and sleep! :p

The best (and worst) thing about Vodka is that it can literally be mixed with anything! That's why it's my drink of choice :)
 
I've noticed vodka in particular has this effect. I kill a fifth and pass out at midnight, find myself wide awake and feeling almost sober by 3. I don't mix it though.
 
Never really been a heavy drinker, but when my first stallion died suddenly I drank so damn much it got to the point where it did nothing for me any longer, so yeah I guess I have drank myself sober.

It sucks, you know? I drink to escape reality so getting sober after a heavy night of drinking is frustrating :p
 
I drink a little all the time but im never drunk or feel drunk.
 
I am a two beer a day kind of person. I work my ass off, so I want to taste some hops when I get home.

That said, it is a bad idea to try to drink me under the table. That backfires pretty bad for most.

I do not have the allele pair that makes some people prone to over-imbibing.

I'm Irish with a genetic predisposition toward over indulging in alcohol, so to cut a long story short out of the many thousands (i assume) of times I've drank socially, antisocially, binged, whinged and practiced plain old alcoholism I've drank myself sober probably 4 times.

If you are at a bar and you are you are drinking with someone at a table, imagine that that person has been a raging alcoholic for a long time and has a tolerance, and that person keeps shoving you one drink after another with the expectation that you keep up, saying "don't be such a lightweight. Are you a priest?" Eventually, you find that you are so damn drunk that you are falling out of your chair.

When you fall out of your chair, where are you located at that time?

It's a cheap trick that don't work on me.

yes several times in my drinking days, but i no longer drink
