And in order to do that you are going to put your dog through an unpleasant anal cleaning any time you want some anal sex.

Sex with your dog is not something that has to be done. It is optional unlike nail clipping, ear cleaning and tooth brushing which are unpleasant but necessary, sex is not necessary.

You may risk trying penetration as far as you watch for any sign of discomfort, but frewuent cleaning has some health issues (removing mucus, etc) even for humans.
I would risk having to clean dog shit from my dong rather than doing a cleaning to him...

From what I have heard in the past, when a dog poops they tend to evacuate all the poop in their colon. Take him for a long walk before hand and make sure he I fully finished pooping.
Now on to the main reason I wanted to post. How many fingers does he take? Just one? More? Make sure he can comfortably take the size you are trying to use on him. Same rules as yourself. Any sign of discomfort. Stop immediately.
Frankly I really don't know how to feel about anal with dogs. To me there's just too much that can be an issue. But if your going to do it be safe and sane and for the love of dog, pay attention to what he's telling you.

My advice without moralism in it is that if you want to go anal you'll get inevitably dirty. Enemas are not designed to be used constantly in dogs like in humans, so don't think about that.
If your dog has already pooped, he'll be surely cleaner than if he hasn't done it before. You can still use a condom if you don't like the mess.
