Can we talk about how often men are over looked on here? I noticed that when a guy starts a thread to say hi, he most likely will get ignored or 1 or 2 responses. When a woman says hi, you see 10 responses at least. Whats with that?

Um, men are largely ignored because the membership here is 90% + men, and mostly straight men, who, spoiler, are not interested in other men.

There are also more women here than there appears to be because women have more to lose than men do by putting themselves out there.

All of that makes for 200 men looking for a woman for every woman here. or more. Add in that like in the general population, gay men are a tiny minority of men in general.

I think scenario A and B are directly tied into each other.

When a woman posts something, she gets 20 replies from men. Most if not all of whom are horny at that moment. And sadly, horny men can often be obnoxious - which is unappealing to most women.

Subsequently, when a guy posts something, most women don't respond because they expect the poster and/or men viewing the thread, will bombard them with obnoxious messages.

I definitely try to take the time to say hi and welcome people no matter the gender!

I do feel a little bit ick when I'm looking at new introductions and it's a girl trying to genuinely say hi and be friendly and there's like 62 replies in 4 minutes. And then right below there'll be some other genuine introduction with 0 replies after 2 hours and I can't help but feel it's hurtful for both sides.

Girls probably out here struggling to make a genuine connection because they're bombarded by loud, horny men.
And men are struggling to make a connection because they're inherently associated with the very loud and obnoxious horny people.

Gotta understand statistics & probability. Ratio of thirsty men looking and maybe trying to initiate a thing… vs. … women who can pretty much get any man… now think about the response ratio. Kind of “soft” to be complaining about the situation.
