I haven’t had the chance to experience yet but, am I crazy for wanting to be monogamous with my dog when I get one? I told one person online and he told me I was stupid and it’s not possible. I genuinely feel like that’s what I want though.

This. Keep in mind you want it for you, not because the dog will view it that way. Don't humanise your dog and your relationship will be all the better for it.
