About female Border Collie <3

Hello everyone,

Im new here and this is my first post. I read a lot of your threads. It's been a long time that I wanna live with a dog and I finally have an large appartment on my own in the middle of a forest, im hesitating between many races, but my favorite would be a Border Collie female. I love their appearance, they look happy, energetic, loyal, affectionate and very cute.
I read storys here about men having sexual relashionships with their female collie.

How likely is it that the collie will refuse/reject sexual encounters with me?
I read I should wait the first heat (and the second phase of heat named Estrus) before any encounter, is that true or only true for penetration? Should I touch her before this period or not?

Do you think it's a good idea to chose this race? Do you have any advice for me or any suggestions?

I want to precise that I ask only questions about sexuality because all other aspects I can find answers everywhere very easily and I can find answers about my questions only here.
I would appreciate a lot to meet border collie owners to talk with them. Dont hesitate to reach me by pm.

It is completely individual.
But these dogs are usually on the smaller side. So you might have trouble fitting in.
Let alone that it is a notoriously hyperactive breed that needs a lot of activity. Probably not a good fit into an apartment.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes indeed it it hyperactive. I plan on 3 long walk outs/ activities per day. Im quite hyperactive aswell
I have not made my choice yet so your answer might change my mind. Also I will read your link !

Also do you think an Australian Shepherd would be a better choice or its too similar ?

Just leaving a comment here to follow up on this thread when you get more comments. I have the exact same questions as you, included the one about the Australian Shepherd! I love everything about Border Collies, but I'm also worried about being able to size, it doesn't mean I wouldn't love to live with one even if there's nothing sexual going on, but I think it's important to know.

Hey thanks for your comment. I hope it will give some visibility to my post.
I have to say I searched the forum a lot about border collie females and I find this main contradiction :
- Some are clearly having sex with them and there are a few videos
- Some say they are way too small

I wish I could find someone that has a border female and that could share some more accurate infos.

For now, if I had to tell you what I know, it depends on the dog and it's random. Some female will be large enough, some won't. The question is more about "How likely are they to be large enough?"
