PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

And I'm looking at you Mr @OwnThatKinkGirl , can you please stop posting PNG files! It took me more than five minutes to let P. 1283 and 4 to load. I know you like all the tiny details and everything, but we don't all live in big cities with superfast broadband. Our internet connection is via a piece of frayed string.

Please, just post JPGs!

I think what you probably think is a throwaway remark about the almost extinct gharial is awful. We are the invasive species and we ought to be doing much, much more to save the animals that "get in our way". We destroy and pollute wherever we go. If we don't like something, because it's ugly (perceived to be) or it tramples our crops, we wipe it out. Look what has happened to the white rhino or the orang utan.

I'm sorry, but I would much rather there were thousands instead of "only 800".
Agreed.....We humans have a remarkable ability to brand anything willing to defend itself as 'Vicious', or undesirable at the very least....but even a virus or amoeba will defend itself, when pushed. The issues may seem vast, but they boil down to acceptance of otherness. Eat as you need to, but have some respect. Albert Schweitzer called it "A Reverence for Life"....It costs little.

I want to chime in before i post. I also agree that mankind is the invasive species. We manage to extinct so many species. The circle of life works perfectly without us, but every time we butt in then something goes wrong. Look outside, look how many plants, flowers, animals, birds etc there are, its freakin amazing, but we manage to mess that all up. All they care about is money and power and stupid wars etc. And when everything is effed up they will be like "bye bitches we're going to Mars" or something.
I know this might not belong in here but i don't care. It just sucks and makes me sad.

With that being said and on a more happier note: It's Stockings Saturday. So this will be my main topic for today. Enjoy and make sure to spend some time today with your beloved animals 🖤

And last for today... The cherry blossom (桜, sakura) is Japan's unofficial national flower. It has been celebrated for many centuries and holds a prominent position in Japanese culture. There are dozens of cherry tree varieties in Japan, most of which bloom for just a few days in spring. The seasonal spectacle is celebrated with hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties under the trees.

Love that. So freakin beautiful! ☺️

It turns out that even scary crocogators love blowing bubbles. Don't worry, these guys only like fish. There's about 800 of these guys left in the world, so not much to worry about.

Just a friendly clarification for those who were less than pleased about the low number of gharials, I was visiting the guy who's working on saving them. Rom something. While the big deal is that there's less than 2 miles of river habitat left where they live (which sucks badly), there is another hidden location of breeding gharials which they are working on protecting so there's hope. And on another related but not related note, one of the people I work with on a business level was involved in getting the 7 cheetahs "gifted" to India to help reestablish the species there. Honestly, if we were allowed to own cheetahs as pets, there'd be no way they'd be endangered. Personally, I use them for Chihuahua control and as a Paris Hilton repellent with fantastic results. To date, Paris Hilton has not been spotted near my vicinity, so I consider this a win and proof of their effectiveness.

Hi PV. It's not a throwaway remark at all. Since I'm still new here, I try to keep things light even on touchy subjects like that. But I did feel the need to mention that there are only ~800 (according to Google) left of this rare species of crocodile. Like you, for a long time I felt straight out anger at this. But that just leave me angry and them still endangered. Now, I step back, because the situation sucks in the first place. If I let myself get angry, then I'm not solving it and since I decided to be angry about it now feel like crap too. "OK", I think to my self, "don't be angry about it, do something to fix it." To get a better understanding of the reality they face, and what's being done to save the species, I went to the leading conservation group to understand it all better and see if I could do anything. Nepal's also got gharials and IMO, the location(s) where they are is much better suited to allow them to recover and survive than the endless mass of people that is India. PM me if you want to know more. Happy to know you care about them. There are lots of people working to save them.
