Please don't post a picture of yourself as an avatar.

I have reached out to about 13 or 14 users so far who have posted a picture of themselves as their avatar. Some of whom claim to have animal partners. What is even more sad is that many of the women users that post these pictures tend to get posts on their wall about how beautiful and sexy they are, rather than letting them know of the danger they are putting themselves in.

By posting a picture of yourself on a public forum which anyone can access as long as you know the URL and are willing to spend 5 minutes to create a ProtonMail email, you are put your very security at risk. Take it from me, a zoophile who has been exposed before for a short period of time. I didn't even have an animal partner at the time. Being exposed is NOT FUN! A few users on here have had their lives turned upside down and ruined due to being exposed as a zoophile.

Normally, if I happen to catch a user with a picture that could be them. I go onto their profile and post to their wall a message similar to this:

"Hello! If that is an actual picture of yourself that you are using as an avatar, I would remove it and replace it with something else immediately. There are profile skimmers on here looking to find identifiable information to out zoos. You are putting yourself in danger."

Thankfully, the majority of users thank me and remove the image of themselves.

I would encourage everyone to do this. If you happen to see a user on here with a photo that is most likely a picture of themselves, I would reach out to them and let them know of the danger. A lot of times these users are new to the zoo community and are just starting out. They are unaware of the danger that they are potentially putting themselves in, because they don't know how hunted and despised we are to the general public.

This ought to be a forum rule when people sign up for the first time.
Step A: only make an account here with a protonmail email
Step B: never post a pic of yourself period (to avoid unique identifying markers such as face, birthmarks, tattoos, etc.) the only exception being that you are taking a photo/video of yourself in such a way where it's a neutral background and face/unique identifiers aren't shown within the camera frame. This is especially important if you are producing content to share.

The amount of skills that certain people have on here for tracing certain female porn stars to see if they're zoo or not, is terrifying in particular. It's mostly women/trans who are likely to fall victim to this type of sleuthing (although men should be equally as careful). I say this because the way that porn works, it's the female/trans person providing entertainment for male audiences, and the women involved in this often times are career content providers, whereas most men are not. However, other males can be victim from other men and women too. This should be common sense, but people fucking suck and it needs to be said.

Who reads the rules? There is actually a link to online security post i made where this exact thing is the first entry. Here is the portion of the rules that contains the link.

Making your own content:
  • Of course, using common sense is the main thing here. Be sure easily identifiable items are not seen, or mistakenly in view.
  • It's advised to try not to have your face in any shot, as well as animals.
  • Use usernames that are not easily identifiable. In other words, don't use the same username as you do elsewhere if you don't want to be discovered.
  • Same goes for emails. No one would be able to see your email on this site, besides admins.
  • We suggest members do not upload pictures of yourself or other people.
Learn more about protecting yourself in our Security Thread.

Proton mail is an absolute requirement. The system does a good a job of blocking all other emails and when it can't, it sends it to us for review. I won't say that it is impossible, but highly unlikely that anyone can join without using proton.

Doh! I remember reading the security thread now, it was one of the first things I read when I joined.

If there is one thing that I have learned from Facebook it is that not everyone is who they say they are in their picture. The next pretty blonde with great tits that you see might be a fat slob with a badge or one of those SJW troll groups. I have had more than my fair share of run-ins with those groups. I can't stand those pieces of shit.

But, but... I AM a social justice warrior. We need justice! SJW away!!!

I find a lot of people here just aren't concerned about their own safety.. I have no idea how they can have that attitude. I don't think its ignorance. Sheer stupidity? Or just careless? I truly don't know, but would love to be enlightened.

If you don't want to be a butt, or a dick, or some nice tids or a cartoon pony, at least be a fake human.

?
Who was that? Was that a fake image or a real person? If it was fake then that was the best fake that I have ever seen.

I agree that people should be more aware of the dangers but also the only way to be unidentifiable is not to sign up. Since neither fully exposing yourself nor deleting your account are good options: how about something simple like just not showing your face, front of your house etc in your picture without everyone going with a rainbow flag avatar and removing a lot of personality and life from this forum by doing so? The effort to identify you just by birth marks of your legs or the colouration of your dog for example seems completely unreasonable to me especially since people dont know if its really you on the picture...

Wrong. It is extremely easy. This is how:
Post a video of yourself with a unique colored dog. You meet up with someone that turns out to be LEO, they match your video with your unique doggo and case complete. You just lost everything.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to those of you who have tried convincing others to change their profile pictures!

Edit: The problem I had was resolved.

I dont know how likely that is to happen but obviously you would have to post a video and meet that kind of person in the first place which isnt really what i was talking about since thats a bit of a different topic from the avatar thing alone (from my perspective) but of course when you create content like that or do other relevant stuff online thats an additional risk and you should be much more careful :)

Cant forger the shit bucket. An important tool for them

I had a pic that was my lips and cleavage, and someone told me that my lips were recognizable after they saw a pic of me. At first I was like hmm..only because you’ve seen the side by side, but then I kept thinking about it and then changed to a random avatar until finding a lewd pic I thought was cute enough to replace it. Now if anyone messages me saying they know my thighs from somewhere, I’ll probably be impressed ?

Reverse image search is a thing.
Indeed, I've reversed the images that people post of themself. I haven't found any results yet. But if I do I'll PM the user instead of posting to their wall. So for example, if the user's name is Bradly Schaffer, I'll PM them the same message along with "I know your name is Bradly S*****er, if I can find your name by searching google, so can an anti-zoo!"

It's hard to do this without being creepy. Back when I found a bunch of pics and vids that had GPS tags in them I had to be really careful not to scare anyone more than necessary.

Yes, please DON'T post uour face on internet, we are here for nice things.
Also this reminded me that I once stumbled upon kik mesenger and there are public zoo groups where you have to send face picture to admin to get "verified". I saw something like 50 people in that group.
Red flag, BIG RED FLAG
