Looks like unripe wintergreen or Checkerberry. The "Teaberry Shuffle" went thru my mind when I saw it....but the filtration is odd.

Wouldn't know a checkerberry from a chess set, but I've seen PLENTY of wintergreen, and that looks right - except for one detail: I don't remember ever seeing more than two berries on a plant.
And yes, the filter is what makes it so "interesting" - Though I haven't got a clue what kind would have been used for that effect.
I guess they MIGHT be Mountain-ash berries - if they were screaming red-orange - those come in clusters like that, and the leaves don't look far wrong.
