Normandy, July 1944. US Army Nurses coming ashore. Since 1997, there has been a Military Women's Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. It is interactive, with a vast Database covering all the Wars the US has engaged in. The Database can be used by Visitors to look up friends and relatives, and visitors are encouraged to write up what they know about women who have served. Personally, I found the DB of great value in looking up old friends. A few are still in contact, but most are deceased. A shock, but always a good thing to know.

There will be a Fireworks display on the Fourth, separate from the one on the Mall in DC; in October there will be an Anniversary Celebration at the Memorial.
For those who keep track, The Memorial was largely built with donated funds from the women who have served or those they left behind. Ladies.. I salute you on this holiday, and every day...."Bless em all!"Nurses in Normandy 07-04-1944.jpgWomen-In-Military-Service-For-America-Memorial_1ba56203-5056-a36a-0722847e120d5745.jpg
