I absolutely cannot understand the ill-considered decision to delete all personal ad and meetup threads and posts. What kind of signal does this send to users when their posts are deleted after less than a day? I think this is a sure-fire way to scare users away and chase them off. And the many deleted posts in the Bestiality Discussion section contained important knowledge for reference. Apart from that, a lot of work went into the posts; I alone spent many hours researching, which were now wasted. Users feel that their commitment to the forum and other users is not really appreciated.

I strongly doubt that this will increase their motivation to get involved and help others. Why invest effort if there is a risk of deletion? Users will then limit themselves to very superficial posts.

As an admin and moderator in one forum for 25 years and a visitor and active member in around 200 other forums over the years, I can say that other forums never delete users' knowledge or specialist posts, as this is precisely what makes forums attractive.

When other forums want to clean up, they try to get rid of inactive members, for example. They are notified and told that if they do not log in within a specified period, their account and posts will be deleted.

This alone would remove a lot of ballast from Zooville. Banned or otherwise blocked users and their posts could be deleted without further ado. A similar procedure could be followed for personal ad and meetup threads and posts, but with a time limit. Thread creators are notified when their thread is one year old that it will be deleted and that they should create a new one if necessary.

There are other useful ways to tidy up and make the forum clearer. All Meetup threads should be moved from the discussion sections to the relevant Personal Ad and Meetup sections. Another option would be to close threads with topics or questions that have clearly been resolved to prevent further posts. If users still want to contribute to a closed thread, they can send a private message to the thread creator. However, the thread creator should be allowed to reopen the closed thread if he believes it is not yet resolved. That much tolerance should be granted.

For me, the most important thing is that people talk to each other and don't just act. Most of the crap in the world happens because people don't talk to each other enough.

Okay, I understand now that some topics have been deleted, and everything that was there, along with the posts and likes for them. It doesn't really bother me, I won't miss it, and they should refresh the forum with such cleaning from time to time.
 
Personally, I'm happy to see the personals section cleaned up, especially for my state. I was getting tired of getting notifications for a post from years ago that was no longer relevant despite updating folks in that thread that I had moved, lmao.

That entire thread is more useless than the personals, but the mods here love watching people argue and shit post. Shit, if that thread was gone, there's a few of them that would lose half of their post history.

Yes, the purge was very sudden and very large, it surprised many of us.
Yes, the purge was obviously needed. I don't believe the moderators would do this if it'd be otherwise.

And still it's allowed to have all this feelings. It's allowed to feel sad and angry over the deleted threads, and it's allowed to feel frustrated with people who don't seem to understand the reasons behind this.
But it's not nice to be rude, these feelings don't justify it.

Can you please restore the 2025 roll call thread in the Australian personals forum? It was consistently active and had decent interactions in it.
 
Feel like it’s related but I’ve noticed that I now can’t send dm’s at all. My guess is that the posts I’ve interacted with in the past have been removed which has affected my ability to send dm’s. Would that be true?

As far as I remember where there 2025 still users adding contest. And I see these threads as important knowledge bases about the users which I often check to learn something basically about them.

I've read everything, but as I said - the whole point of a forum is to have some history. Most of the posts that were nuked weren't breaking the rules - this type of behaviour from the admins makes this place extremely unreliable. It's like how Trump does things - shoot first, think never. Plus with the strict rules and zero tolerance policy, it sometimes feels like walking on a mine field.

There was an argument between HIM (because there are no girls on the internet and I am pretty sure that you won't find a pussy between those legs) an another user and the other user that was clearly more genuine, but he got pissed off and then banned because of it. Do you always read all the rules wherever you go? Whenever you click I agree? I will answer that for you, nobody does! That's why there always needs to be some tolerance and not just ban right away - it's what it means to be human.

People arguing for "tolerance" on forums know jack shit about moderating a forum.

It's fucking impossible to keep track of how much "tolerance" a user has gotten.

Break the rules? Banned. It's that fucking simple. And frankly, that's the most fair method.

Mentioned a bit earlier. ZT listened to Fausty. ZT sent a telegram voice message and Fausty claimed he had that one much older forums.
Instead of listening to mods ideas or actually coming to assist mods, ZT listened to Fausty like he's running things.
