ZV needed a cleanse

well some of us can't afford to own animals, especially in this country, Im sure it's easy for the privileged few, but not for a lot of us, I would love to one day be an owner when I can afford it, but that's not possible rn, and Im sure a lot of people don't want to wait years to be able to maybe afford to own an animal, and would rather test the waters seeing if others are willing to help us out, idk why you feel the need to go after folks wanting things, there's no rules against seeking that stuff out on here, Ive read through them multiple times, so unless I need my eyes re-examined, there's nothing wrong with it here, this will be the last reply I post to you, anyone else I will respond, I don't have the patience or care to sit here and argue about this
Considering the avatar you're using, I'm not surprised that your next move is to try to play the victim card. Get over yourself. You're not special, you're not owed anything, by anybody, and frankly, you might as well log out and not return, since with this whining your'e doing, nobody who actually has a critter and even minimal smarts isn't going to let you anywhere near it.

Hi,

I absolutely cannot understand the ill-considered decision to delete all personal ad and meetup threads and posts. What kind of signal does this send to users when their posts are deleted after less than a day? I think this is a sure-fire way to scare users away and chase them off.

Since this isn't a hookup site, and since it has been announced over and over and over and over and over and over and over again that the personals section exists SOLELY as a corral to hold the idiots that think it's "a zoo version of grnder" so they don't shit all over the forum with their desperate "can you PUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASEEEEEEE help me fuck/get fucked by a _________" whining, it's my contention that the entire personals should be wiped to the bare walls weekly, if not daily or even hourly...

lemme guess, very little if any of the shit you ever wrote disappeared?
Of course, the eggs are still there.

And the many deleted posts in the Bestiality Discussion section contained important knowledge for reference. Apart from that, a lot of work went into the posts; I alone spent many hours researching, which were now wasted. Users feel that their commitment to the forum and other users is not really appreciated.
This section might be brought back because there were some really useful discussions in it.

The rest definitely won't be. Everyone can rewrite the two lines about where they live and what they want to fuck. At least that way only the fresh ones will remain.
The many stupid users who wrote replies to 4 year old comments.

That this isn't a hookup site, and that they won't have any luck with their desperate searching no matter how long their post stays up.

Nothing will be lost if those users move on as they always have. Such threads also just reared back up 2 years later by yet another thirsty idiot in the same area "I'm looking here too, you had no luck 3 years ago, well maybe I will!".

What about also doing the following
- Delete inactive accounts - Already suggested
- Delete Guest accounts / Do not allow them - they suck
- Just delete these sections entirely - Already suggested

If you really need to be advertising what you want to do, have done to you or have meetups/hookups then why not just stick it in your about

Not saying I am squeaky clean myself and that I may have responded to those sections on occasion or more

I specifically asked for that thread to be spared (as a joke before I even knew things will be deleted) and it is kinda zooish.
But at the same time, I did not delete anything during the purge because I did not take part in it and only restored one thread from mine that were deleted.

@dogluver101 as far as I understood it, threads in DF, personals and the human porn section were deleted. But the General Discussion and User Chat and Zoophilia and Bestiality Sexuality were not touched? I lost 4000 posts by the way. Not sure where.

Why are there complaints about lost discussion threads?

Simple answer is because they were having those discussions in the personal ads and hookups section, just have a look at the German section for instance https://www.zoovilleforum.net/forums/germany.101/

Doesn't look like the Bestiality discussions section was even touched https://www.zoovilleforum.net/forums/german.44/

Edited

Those threads probably should be moved to the correct section and restored, I see a couple 500+ page threads that were removed.

Haven't these three been cleaned up? The number of pages seems small to me.

I think there were more than 5 pages here too. I dont know.

Yes all those sections were cleaned up as well with only the larger or active threads left.

Well that explanations the 4000 lost posts. :D I doubt I had this many in the DF alone.

What was the title?
Hi,

I strongly doubt that this will increase their motivation to get involved and help others. Why invest effort if there is a risk of deletion? Users will then limit themselves to very superficial posts.

As an admin and moderator in one forum for 25 years and a visitor and active member in around 200 other forums over the years, I can say that other forums never delete users' knowledge or specialist posts, as this is precisely what makes forums attractive.

When other forums want to clean up, they try to get rid of inactive members, for example. They are notified and told that if they do not log in within a specified period, their account and posts will be deleted.

This alone would remove a lot of ballast from Zooville. Banned or otherwise blocked users and their posts could be deleted without further ado. A similar procedure could be followed for personal ad and meetup threads and posts, but with a time limit. Thread creators are notified when their thread is one year old that it will be deleted and that they should create a new one if necessary.

There are other useful ways to tidy up and make the forum clearer. All Meetup threads should be moved from the discussion sections to the relevant Personal Ad and Meetup sections. Another option would be to close threads with topics or questions that have clearly been resolved to prevent further posts. If users still want to contribute to a closed thread, they can send a private message to the thread creator. However, the thread creator should be allowed to reopen the closed thread if he believes it is not yet resolved. That much tolerance should be granted.

For me, the most important thing is that people talk to each other and don't just act. Most of the crap in the world happens because people don't talk to each other enough.

Kind regards
CdB
The zoo sections were not even touched. Some were a long time ago, but some of those were moved to the correct area. Years ago I moved over 10 threads to the fetish section. This also isn't Facebook. Members can't close their own threads.

A lot of them were awesome for catching fakers
Fake is actually kinda allowed.
Lying about your identity
You are allowed to be a fake woman or a fake man on the forum as long as you are not stealing content or someone else's real identity.
The forum is not a dating site and we do not and will not verify user identity. But people who choose to use the forum for dating anyway can call you out in the:
Claiming stolen content as yours though will get you banned immediately. This includes taking photos of people from the internet and claiming it is you.
Do not use photos you have uploaded anywhere else. We will not verify it is you and it will be considered stolen.

I think it was a bit radical, some warning would have been nice. Our main thread for my fellow South Africans with like 60 pages of chatting and pretty regular traffic was unfortunately "cleansed"🤣.

I agree, kill stagnant threads and accounts, sure. But this just seems like someone walked into a section of the forum and got trigger-happy with a flamethrower.

It is fair enough to clean out old dead threads, or personal ads by users who have not been logged in for a long time. But relevant contributions become a part of a pool that makes a forum great. ZV has lost a lot recently, and hey are not even done yet. I am old enough to remember Elitezoo. Users lost interest because they happened to loose the complete database at irregular intervals. Backups are only for cowards. When they asked the users to sign up for EZ ver 7.0 or something the interest faded away.
If they need to free up database space thre is plenty of porn that is uploaded multiple times. As well as some far fetched genitialia only images/vids hoarded from social media posted unde (species)sheaths (speies)balls etc etc, just meh items where them said body part may be visible as a few pixels in a few seconds in a long hires movie.

I feel like someone will log in to ZV tomorrow and read "Welcome to Zooville! Be the first to make a post in our forum!"

Can we get permissions to actually do something with the damned groups, seriously I am fed up with there being a section of the forum that's completely inaccessible for anyone that's not a administrator.
Yea, I posted a few groups to be removed and some to just give ownership to me. It's whatever.

  • Haha
Reactions: pes
Completely empty for example.
There was also a rule about how long it would take for groups that didn't have the minimum number of members to be deleted.

It would be best to eliminate the entire Groups, as it is an outdated, buggy, and difficult area for moderators to monitor. It's completely unnecessary when the forum is suitable for all communication.
Nuke. Nuke it.

is it suitable tho? shit is disappearing.
In principle, you don't like this forum and there are periods when you don't come on for weeks because of idiotic and fetishist stuff. But now what bothers you is that idiotic and fetishist threads and comments have been deleted.
It's true that some/many more useful threads have been deleted, but I'm glad that it was removed the lot of shit. Smelling 500 Kg of shit instead of 1000 Kg of shit is much less stinky.
