User Permission Updates and Forum Changes
Hell, it should be 30 days to start a thread. Agreed in general, but I do think the Introductions forum should still be open to new users.www.zoovilleforum.net
Hello ZooVille!
I'm just giving everyone a heads up that the user privilege permissions have been updated on the forum, along with some other changes to the layout.
NEW User Permissions:
- To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum.
- Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
- Note: that if you do not meet these new requirements, you may lose access to the ability to send new PMs until you meet both thresholds.
PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.
Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:
- The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
- This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
- The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
- "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.
These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.
Thank you for your understanding on the matter.
Another update: October 4th, 2025: Changes to Groups...
As of October 4th, 2025: The ability to create new groups in the social groups area of the forum has been disabled for all members. This is mainly because there's too many of them already, and our moderators are not able to effectively moderate them due to issues with the plug-in itself. The groups plug-in is, quite frankly, broken. If this update is reversed, I'll let everyone know. But for the time being you may join groups, leave groups, interact with groups, post threads, post photos, post events, etc. but you will not be able to create NEW groups.
Some threads, such as those in Fun & Games, do not count.i have made 33 posts, yet on my profile it says i’ve only made 10, and i’m unable to pm?

No you didn't, just like you didn't in the last change in July '21.So I've been here longer than most but lost all my privileges.
There is a denial of service attack in place and has been over the past month+.Hmm, I don't know if this is just a me thing or a site thing, but it seems like the hosting server is struggling hard?
Every 2-3 times I try loading a new page, it can take 3-15 minutes for the stuff to load. Often it just shits itself completely instead and says it's unavailable. It's made this new permission update much harder to fulfill. I might be reading what someone says through a thread and suddenly I lose access for an extended period and then I go do something else while I wait and by the time I get back I might have forgotten something..

You need 20 posts & 30 days to access PMs. It's 150 posts and 60 days to be able to send pictures in PMs. There has been an issue of people joining this site and then harassing female members with 'dick pics' or abusive content. This rule is there so members don't open their PMs only to be confronted by things they don't want to see. Staff don't want to keep getting involved. Alternatives are available.
- Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
150 Posts 150 posts is a lot, especially privately you still have the most control and can block people yourself
This counts as a postStill unclear on the post thing... Like, is this just comments on threads or like, unique posts created? What?
Any post/threads outside of fun and games and profile posts count.Still unclear on the post thing... Like, is this just comments on threads or like, unique posts created? What?
I find the topmost profile post on this user to be the perfect example of thisIt amazes and disappoints me how lurkers feel they should contribute virtually nothing yet be permitted full access to all the 'benefits' of the forum. Lurking contributes NOTHING to anyone other than the 'lurker'. Sadly, such is typical of a great many people's self-absorbed perspective.
