User Permission Updates and Forum Changes

The hard thing for them is that they have to wait 30 days before they can send each other all kinds of garbage in DMs via stories or links or Telegram addresses. And 30 days is a LOT if someone needs fapfap content immediately.


I love Floofy ❤️ for finally doing this. And I also hate that he's been an admin for ~two years and it took him this long, even though many people, including Pes and Marelover, have mentioned this tightening several times. I don't understand why it took so long to activate such a basic 30 days protection feature. Very slow admin.

But I know, I'm "just Masha" and this is a "normal Masha thing". And next.

To be fair, he did say that he didn't want to take over and immediately flip the boat with radical changes. Still, I'd hardly call 2 years immediate and radical.

NEW User Permissions:

  • To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum.

PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.

Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:

  • The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
  • This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
  • The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
  • "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.

These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.

any changes toward the groups sections?
 
This is a very understandable change.

Thanks administrators for all the hours of work in keeping this forum clean and safe! That must be a lot of work.

I think the updates were great, as they make the community more confidential and secure for users.

Thank you for taking care of us all. Zooville is special because of this care and love 💕💕💕
 
Like the vast majority here I think these are changes for the betterment of all.

100% agree on visitors seeing absolutely nothing. perhaps even for those under 30 days a block to media would also help stop the "hot" posts and random garble thrown out multiple posts in a row.

Is it possible to auto-merge multiple posts or unrestrict this feature? even grant it to the OP of a thread so they can merge the posts to prevent spamming to increase a post counter?

Is it possible to set it so that those under the 30 days cant PM but others over this limit can PM them if they wish to enter into a private conversation? I still think this would allow for a fair balance of anti-spam and still allowing connections to form.

Shame about the DDOS attacks - hopefully they decide to get bored at point their bots elsewhere.

I think it's because of Facebook that so many people don't understand it. On Facebook, the word "post" is used for things in a format similar to what a "thread" is in the world of forums.

Firstly, I completely understand.

So to clarify, first you said to PM you must be member 30 days and then also have 20 posts, and then you say we may loose ability to PM if we dont meet both thresholds...

I understand not being able to send photos in PMs without meeting a higher threshold, but do i now have to post 120 more times to be able to privately message other users now?

Im here to meet other people who feel the same way I do, and I am not one who likes to say something if i dont feel like i have something to say. I also cant spend every waking hour here looking for something to respond to publicly. Im an introvert and these topics are sensitive already, so for me to have to post 120 more times - and not spamming - will take months. Ive already been around a while on here so it kinda feels pretty crappy to loose access to starting private conversations with people. Most of those conversations I have been able to start havent gone anywhere - so i do understand creating some systems to clear out the "wank brigade" as you say, it just feels like im being punished and I didnt do anything wrong.
