There are a few ways to tell sometimes but it's best and safer not to assume. Private lives shoold be by invitation only. I am not calling your wrong. Its just a difference in opinions amd what I jave observed after many years.

Once he's mature....teach him what one place in the home is "okay", and maybe give him his own quilt for the purpose. There are other things that can encourage him to let others alone. A lot is written here.
