ZV needed a cleanse

So I never actually provided announcements on this. They usually just happen to be who ever asks first, or if someone sees it mentioned.

Today, personals needed to be cleaned, including non zoo sections. I was nice and left a few.
Certain posts in some non-zoo porn sections were ripe with fakes and started to be come our main focus on modding.
This was intended to be a zoo forum. In fact, a better zoo forum than BF. But from some talk I've had in the past with others, this site was of course, being another BF.

I guess better late than never on this clean up. This may actually start to be an official process for now on.
Tons of personals were cleared, including much older ones. People responding to posts from 2022, and that user has never logged in since 2023.
Introductions were cleared.
Introductions is for saying you're new to the site, not for personal hook ups.

This site is not a dating site; Various users kept suggesting we have verification's; We are not a dating site. This is a zoophila site. Its focal point should be on zoo.

Please ensure you see the rules and report anything you see that may be in violation of the rules.

Needed doing.

Especially the personals. Some catfish or random tool makes 1 post there and is never here again, 6 years later some series of thirsters shoot their shot.......now we all gotta see a post from xx69sloppywetdogwhore69xx who made the post 4 minutes after opening the account then immediately logged out and vanished forever.........everything except his post, that has 30 pages and 6 years worth of thirster spam.

I would love to see a 1 year cutoff on that kind of stuff. OP gone for a year after a 6 minute career here. I say year only because it's an easier calculation than 6 months so as to not suck up mod time and to nip any tears in the bud over 30 days either direction.

I've been deleting intros after six months of either no new posts or the OP hasn't logged in, I was fed up with seeing one post accounts from 2019 being drooled over non-stop.

Same thing goes for any necro posts as well, why reply to a post that's been dead for years and the OP hasn't been seen in just as long 🤬

so do you just speak with gifs when not being passive aggressive to people seeking meetups and or first experiences?
dont droll to much, search friends and not animals for just sex and we can be good

have a clear mind and knew what it takes from u to have a animal as partner and to what costs it comes for u
mostly u build ur life around ur animals and not the other way around
like your not even a mod or staff member
and i dont want that - they have to endure so much shit often that i wonder that they still do their job

I want friends and to have my first experience, is that too much to ask? I don't care if it takes a while but still, it's not your job to go around reminding everyone of the meetup safety stuff, that's why mods pinned that thread to the top of these areas, you come off as the type of person who at a job acts like they have authority when they don't
u can have ur first experience urself, just work for it urself and see what it means to be a owner

if u need help u can always ask and many here are willing to help u with ur journey towards becomming a owner :gsd_happysmile:

well some of us can't afford to own animals, especially in this country, Im sure it's easy for the privileged few, but not for a lot of us, I would love to one day be an owner when I can afford it, but that's not possible rn, and Im sure a lot of people don't want to wait years to be able to maybe afford to own an animal, and would rather test the waters seeing if others are willing to help us out, idk why you feel the need to go after folks wanting things, there's no rules against seeking that stuff out on here, Ive read through them multiple times, so unless I need my eyes re-examined, there's nothing wrong with it here, this will be the last reply I post to you, anyone else I will respond, I don't have the patience or care to sit here and argue about this
i wasnt able to afford one at the beginning too - worked alot towards it and i am very sure u can make it too ❤️

Everything vanished. Does anyone know if ZooVille does some sort of clean-up process where they routinely delete everything? Not just Australia, but other nations have also lost all their threads. Or is the website just glitching out? Anyone else see this?

Mods felt a cleanup was needed :)

Oh that’s both good and bad, but a lot of great posts removed and watched topics removed. Haven’t been on here in a while so I’ve probably missed a lot of recent posts anyway. Can build the community back strong again to see who’s currently active on here

Next time the cleaning should be announced a few days in advance in a banner.
It is leaving too many people confused and leads to creating multiple copies of the same question because asking people to look in the usual places first is too much.
People nowadays do not know how to internet.

It’s really not that hard.

The Purge should have started with all dormant accounts that have not been logged in for the last million years which still gets likes, dms, profile message etc

Should also apply to accounts that have been banned for stolen or fake content - Just delete them and all their posts

EDIT: I actually started a specific thread, that was deleted, as a "honeypot" to attract fakers, which actually worked
Maybe worth leaving some for that reason as they do a good job in attracting them to be identified and banned

Indeed auto kill any account not logged in for a year just logical, gets rid of sleeper accounts from bots and such and keeps things clean and tidy

Hi,

I absolutely cannot understand the ill-considered decision to delete all personal ad and meetup threads and posts. What kind of signal does this send to users when their posts are deleted after less than a day? I think this is a sure-fire way to scare users away and chase them off. Even if the threads are a week, a month or a year old, you can't tell from their age alone whether they have been dealt with.

And the many deleted posts in the Bestiality Discussion section contained important knowledge for reference. Apart from that, a lot of work went into the posts; I alone spent many hours researching, which were now wasted. Users feel that their commitment to the forum and other users is not really appreciated.

I strongly doubt that this will increase their motivation to get involved and help others. Why invest effort if there is a risk of deletion? Users will then limit themselves to very superficial posts.

As an admin and moderator in one forum for 25 years and a visitor and active member in around 200 other forums over the years, I can say that other forums never delete users' knowledge or specialist posts, as this is precisely what makes forums attractive.

When other forums want to clean up, they try to get rid of inactive members, for example. They are notified and told that if they do not log in within a specified period, their account and posts will be deleted.

This alone would remove a lot of ballast from Zooville. Banned or otherwise blocked users and their posts could be deleted without further ado. A similar procedure could be followed for personal ad and meetup threads and posts, but with a time limit. Thread creators are notified when their thread is one year old that it will be deleted and that they should create a new one if necessary.

There are other useful ways to tidy up and make the forum clearer. All Meetup threads should be moved from the discussion sections to the relevant Personal Ad and Meetup sections. Another option would be to close threads with topics or questions that have clearly been resolved to prevent further posts. If users still want to contribute to a closed thread, they can send a private message to the thread creator. However, the thread creator should be allowed to reopen the closed thread if he believes it is not yet resolved. That much tolerance should be granted.

For me, the most important thing is that people talk to each other and don't just act. Most of the crap in the world happens because people don't talk to each other enough.

Kind regards
CdB
