Zooville Feedback and bug reporting thread.

okay this is getting ridiculous, now media such as images wont load anymore in TOR browser because they are linked to "https://zoovilleforum.net/attachments/17574117......../" for example, and not http://ebkkee32u5fvrx5aybrkk7pewa6wgal5zc2qlxcdfmdlc5mfyzsx36yd.onion/........
but not everywhere, whats going on?
The for service is probably misconfured. The forum work in for with the normal URL. You just need to switch circuits every 10 minutes. And if you wait long enough, you do not need to switch.

At the same time every night at about 10:30pm the site goes down on me and I'm not able to access till 2-4 hours later, some times it's up to 6hrs that it's down for me. Tbh it's very annoying when this happens.

I've had a similar, but not so extreme, experience with IP addresses in the UK. When i've switched to IPs in Switzerland or Sweden the problem has disappeared.

for me, after going through 1 or 2 posts, it keeps saying page is unavailable, even after refreshing it
You and everyone else for the past month or so, and the last 3 pages of this thread are copy/paste of each other about the same thing. Did you really need to add yet another?

The more sexual content or dick, pussy, ass on the avatar, the lower the IQ.
Scary concept is that I never actually thought about it far enough to make that connection - Just dropped them in the ignore bin as the obvious boors they nearly always prove themselves to be within a few posts after signing up.

Read the last 3 fucking pages!
Listen Dickwad, if I can't even get to the pages to read about an issue, and I'm dropped nearly every time I try to log in, and when I do finally get to this page, I'm lucky to be able to even post...so cut us some slack.

I resorted to just blocking all avatars with UBlock.
I usually do things like this as well, but I haven't found a good, safe way to set up these types of addons for the tor browser. And I want to be more selective, as I like the idea of profile pics in general. I might just have to put some of the worst offenders on ignore.

I had a very weird experience today.

I made my log in normally like i always do but 5 minutes later the webpage was not working for me anymore.

I asked a friend to check out if the website was still working and for him normally. I switched to mobile data and the forum worked without issues. Soo after i reset the modem the forum worked again by wifi. It was the first time i had this kind of issue here and i dunno if anyone here had the same problem.

Sounds like you hit yet another small window of downtime like every other complaint for the past 3 pages, and actually believe it was anything you did on your end that made it only for you and "fixed" by what you did.

The site has been under attack and sporadically unstable for over a month now.

Might be the DDos countermeasures. They seem to work temporary banning IP that have too much traffic.

Your mobile data is obviously a different IP donit would gonthrough. And your modem, if you are on DynIP will also pick a new IP after a reset.

I too am getting "Page could not be loaded" The site works when using a VPN, but only for a while, then it goes back to that error.

My browser does seem to hang when using search, and then I think the error triggered on that request.

Just my anecdotes, I don't mean to raise a big issue.

Suggestion: on the security page, more in particular the show activity / online status tick

It would be great if we could restrict this to people you follow rather than as it is a deface all or none

You are not the only one. It's only very recent for me. I keep changing VPN server every minute. Same message as you "Page could not be loaded". I suspect a misconfigured rate limiting function to prevent bots and DDOS attack.

I have an idea of what might be happening:
The server owner might have configured the server to blacklist any IP that performs more than let's say 100 request per minute. Once blacklisted, the server drop your connection until the blacklist timeout is over. You might think "A 100 requests per minute is a lot", but it isn't. You see, loading a single page does not equal 1 request. Every time you load a page, you browser has to load all resource files. That include Javascript files, image files, styling files, and more. So loading a page a single time will produce a burst of let's say 105 requests. Obviously the count will be slightly lower the second time because of cashing, but you can see how easy you can get blacklisted with such a low number.

On the other hand, putting a number higher to fix that will basically render your anti bot or DDOS useless. That's because bots for example do not care about images and other resources. So you allow it to perform 100 or more malicious requests before getting blacklisted.

The solution is to not enforce this rule on resources: any requests that fetch a file that ends with .png, .jpeg, .css, ect... This way you can keep the limit rate low without affecting real website traffic.

I work and manage multiple servers. NGINX, PHP, APACHE2, REDDIS and such... My hope is that a server admin sees this and if it is the issue, it can be fix.

OK, I thought it was just me. I am sure things will get sorted out.
Same thing, one or two posts and get a connection issue. It does eventually connect though.

If only. lmao.
My host has a pretty good DDOS protection. My boxes don't even experience an issue, I just get an email someone failed.
I use firewalls in each of them; Most issue I had was with a SYN flood.
