User Permission Updates and Forum Changes

I totally understand the change and am behind it.

That said, annoyingly with the forum purge a few months back, the large chunk of my posts got deleted, bringing me to back down to below 20 posts…I guess it’s time to start posting more!

So whats to stop people from creating accounts, make 20 posts in the first day, or a few days, then dip and come back to spam once the restrictions lift after 30 days? It can def be made harder for them. Suggesting new accounts can only make one post per day, with the same guidelines, it'll force spammers to have to log in 20 different days and comment inorder to meet the treshold. But guess admins would be the ones to really tell if this did much against spammers once the first 30 days from when this was implemented passes.

I personally don't like to comment much so doubt I'll hit 20 posts any time soon. Seems like when alot of posts were nuked, its been abit quiter now, well, atleast in my area. But then again, maybe the majority of those around me were just spammers and the few that exists are abit too shy engage just like me.

How's that going to affect current status? I could be called a "lurker". I am only fearful of commenting due to nature of the content etc. And plus, this is a deeply personal & private sexual feeling.

While I understand the increase in comments etc. I can also see this "deterring" members from sticking around.

Currently I can still chat with existing chat's I had previously, but can't create new ones so will have to "lift" my comments :(
If one is not willing to BE PART OF THE PLACE, then explain why anybody should care if they don't stick around? This is gonna cut the "wank-brigade" bigtime, which is a WELCOME change.

Out of curiosity, what consititues posts? Wholly new threads or things like this comment? Cause of it's "create X number of threads" then I don't really see how that wouldn't stop someone from just making a bunch of new threads?

(and in some categories of this site, there's already "mega threads" in which act as kinda a hub {eg: in porn the thread "dog cocks"} and it seems to be discouraged to make a new thread for similar posts).

If it is just "x number of comments" are the old exclusions still in place (like the "fun and games" thread comments not counting {I don't recall if Dumpster Fire is excluded from counting towards that number or not and IMO it probably should be})?

Also, I don't really see the point to limiting DMs? Like I feel like that should be maybe a user-controlled setting like on a lot of sites (limiting DMs to friends/mutuals/"verified" etc).
Honestly to me it's on the person receiving the DMs to choose whether to block the sender/reply/report/etc.

Boredom and fish memory.

Even as it was until now, most curious users would just come to offer / request then not come back after just a few days or a week.

Hopefully it'll help keep the people away that have bothered me into basically being silent. I've been safely working on getting my girl ready to have sex, but having dozens of people trying to pressure me into doing it quicker makes me not want to post anything at all.

It is something that takes time, and considering I have next to no privacy like I used to, it takes even longer.

this right here is a "post"

Commenting on subjects you find interesting or amusing or have knowledge of.

Most the worthless trash is very low effort, so these upper settings will remove the most of it from being annoying

@FloofyNewfie When are you going to implement action against the thousands of pages of ''That's so hot'' type of comments on porn threads. Maybe just turn off comments and only allow the OP post. People can react with the ''Like'' button.
Or at least a minimum leght of comment.

Some answers are legit and the OP thread is thevright place, but if you are interested in idk... "what breed is that" you can surely word it better, even give a bit of background of why you are curious about it.

Meanwhile the "so hot" crew will likely be ubable to find better words, or just find it too tiring to put them down 🤔

Does this have something to do with how the site has been erratically available lately. I have been assuming some kind of DDoS has been underway.
We have been crying for the comment limit to be raised for two years now, and due to the current high spam and attacks, they finally did it.
Unfortunately, the forum is still owned by several owners and due to the state of the forum (a pile of shit) no one wants to deal with it. These modernizations and repairs, develops should happen in few weeks, and we have been waiting for it for years...

It would be good to take the above suggestions into account and count the comments in the Porn section as 0, just like in the Entertainment section. That way, the many "hawt, hot, lick, fuck, suck" comments would not be counted.

And DF. DF is not zoophilia, DF is a big off toxic section. Let the value of the comments there be 0.

30 days is good. Raising the 20 comments is still good for now, if there is still a lot of spam in the coming weeks, then it can be raised to 30-50 etc. Operating a forum works based on experience.

There have been attacks and the tools used to defend against attacks also slow down the forum. This is unfortunately normal. This also depends on where you connect to the server from.

It would probably be counter-productive. In addition to Porn Title xyz thread there would be a Porn Title xyz comments thread. Some mods don't like members giving porn threads 'likes'. Some moderators use the likes as a quick way to identify members who 'like' threads that are deemed to be inappropriate and ban worthy. 'So hot' comments can be annoying, (and yes i'm guilty of making such comments), but they're both encouraging and harmless. If such comments were blocked members would make similar but different inane posts elsewhere on the forum to create whatever post count was necessary. If there's a 30-day minimum time period to gain PM access then the minimum post limit might not need to be that high. Just a personal opinion but a 30-day minimum time period should also apply to thread creation.

If you want a more radical solution then press the owner into contacting XenForo to ask for changes in the preferences section for individual members. There might well be members who don't want to disable PMs but would like to limit incoming PMs to members who have either a higher post count or a 100-day membership history. XenForo currently only listen to people who are forum owners.

I’m trying to figure out why my last post was deleted for not being zoo related???

I spent a lot of time reading that and was expressing my attraction to mares. This place has just become ridiculous. Just delete me. This is really dumb.
dont shove ur genital in other topics and other people faces without them asking for it - havent u learned some manners?

Only when the content is specially against the rules. Other than that I have not heard any mod has a concern about the "likes"

I agree it can happen that someone hits like without seeing the offending scene, but placing a supporting message will not save from the warning more than hitting the like button.
