Zooville will be implementing verified user accounts.
Recent high number of fake profiles and the subsequent large number of reports and accusations in the https://www.zoovilleforum.net/threads/fake-user-awareness-thread.25246/page-96#post-3629032 led us to the idea of cutting down on it by having people optionally verify their sex.

A field will be added to the user profile including the small profile that appears when you hover over a name.
This field will show verification status and user gender. Male/Female/Trans... Details will be finalized based on what the plugin will be able to offer.

Verification will be based on a photo showing enough information to reliably tell whether a user is a man or a woman or some gender and they own the account.
Government ID will not be necessary unless you really want to use one.

Since this process will be time consuming, it will likely be slow, do not expect miracles.

As a for some people convenient side effect, fake profiles will become less frequent and dating will be perhaps easier.
We will gain a smaller number of reports in return.

Rules will be updated accordingly when ready.
 
*signs and nods* Sadly, a necessary state of affairs. It's unfortunate the number of people that are untruthful and untrustworthy. Being an 'ancient/old zoo' I can recall a time when none of this type of 'stuff' wasn't necessary. IMO, humankind is at a crossroads identity and 'spiritually' wise. I doubt I'll be around to see/view the outcome but it doesn't look good.

Addendum: *ponders in deep thought* Hmm, reflecting some more, seeing as this dropped on 'April Fools Day', I'm left to wonder...

there are posts of me with my cock in my dog, and if you also add in the countless comments viciously disparaging dumbfucks and so fucking many antizoos with meth fueled tirades just dripping with venom and vitriol, its pretty obvious i am a guy, and a bit of a cunt to humans in general rather often , with well over half of my comments displaying my free flowing hostility and contempt directed at humans, particularly those who display egregious levels of mental and intellectual deficiency , so its should be readily apparent that i am also a zoo , more specifically zoo exclusive for many years , kinda a major contributing factor in my absolute unwillingness to tolerate the rampant dumbfuckery and bullshit from oh so many people, because i have absolutely zero interest in humans, and as such causing offense and publicly shaming humans is so far beyond not even the slightest concern to me whatsoever . honestly its a very freeing experience not having even the slightest concern about what the opinions are of other humans in regards to me, while so very many others today who stress over the potential of any little thing possibly offending some pussy ass snowflake

I really like this idea. Just a suggestion, would it be possible to get verification as to whether somebody is an owner as well? It isn't unheard of for someone to pretend to be an owner with the goal of blackmail
 
I don't think it's about that, whether it's a dating site or not, because if you plan to go out with people from this site, it's your responsibility, or ours if that's what we want. It's about feeling safer and more confident on this site, knowing that the person you're talking to is who they say they are and not an internet troll who's just here to bother you or play with your time, your peace of mind, and your emotions. Wouldn't we feel better and a little safer and more confident if we knew that the person on the other side of the screen is who they really say they are?

How is this not pointless with AI in the mix? Also this does nothing to stop guys from using photos of their ex if they want to LARP as a girl. Or girls using photos of their ex if they want to LARP as a guy. Even if you require some extra thing, like the date or something to be written and visible, that's trivial to realistically edit into an existing photo.

Hmm, perhaps, if we are sending legitimate personal information to the admins and mods, will they all be sending us some form of assurance that they too are who and what they say they are? As for "Government ID", you may have noticed that not all of us live in the US, or, indeed, a country where such a thing is a requirement? If you think I shall be sending a copy of my driver's licence or passport, please, think again.

I do hope, as @allyfitz states, that this is an April Fool's Day spoof.

That is exactly what the German zoo dating site forumzoone does ask its "serious" member to do. And the members actually get verified, or at leas some of them.
 
I think this is good for increasing visibility of different genders and such but you need to be careful when you really want to make it about gender :unsure: biological sex like cis-female, trans-female, etc and leaving gender questions to the users might be a better idea 😺

If this were real/serious and there isn’t a “completely opt out” option, many of us would just leave. Most of us are adults who dgaf what sex internet strangers think we are. There’s a zero percent chance we’d send photos of any kind.

Also, women NEED an option to NOT DISPLAY THEIR SEX. If it couldn’t be turned off or not displayed, even more of us would leave due to the inevitable weeb/incel harassment that resulted.
