Boof. Maybe it would be worth turning on multi-quote?I'd have to look into it again

Floofyyyy, fix the fuckin' avatar problem, plzzz. It's something I'll have to look into (if the server admin doesn't beat me to it.) Basically for right now the media plugin is completely disabled, likely because it was giving us some issues. When I get some spare time I'll see if I can configure it again. I was going to get some things fixed this past weekend, but then I came down with a rather nasty flu and didn't feel like doing diddly squat, as you can imagine. Right now I'm too busy with life stuff.
I'd have to look into it again, but if I remember correctly, I was going to disable it on ZCA but it turned out that it wasn't a simple settings change and you had to literally mess with the forum's core files and modify code to get rid of it.
I remember back in the early 2000s when the first forums really started to work, people would intentionally use flashing and irritating gifs as avatars. Many forums had rules about it after a while.Good. Animated gifs are the bane of the internet.
Come on, don't be like that! I did it myself, spent two hours on it, and now what? Nothing.Good. Animated gifs are the bane of the internet.
I don't know about back then because I was crawling under the table, but today it's 2026, 8 gigabytes of RAM is already considered a weak computer, the majority have 16 or 32, and when we add modern GPUs and CPUs, I see no reason for anyone to complain that a gif file is slowing down their computer.I remember back in the early 2000s when the first forums really started to work, people would intentionally use flashing and irritating gifs as avatars. It has nothing to do with slowing down the computer. It's entirely a matter of being a constantly moving annoyance.I see no reason for anyone to complain that a gif file is slowing down their computer.
Because the vast majority make annoying constant movement, few people have a sense of how to do something interesting and good.It has nothing to do with slowing down the computer. It's entirely a matter of being a constantly moving annoyance.
Believe it or not, there are people who are adversely affected by ANY kind of looping motion, it's a type of ADHD/Autism spectrum sensory trigger.Because the vast majority make annoying constant movement, few people have a sense of how to do something interesting and good.
My PC has AMD Ryzen 7 5800X With 64GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 8GB Graphics. I have seen many PC's with upwards of 512gb of ram. Anyway, Thanks to all the admins for working hard to keep this place up and running as smoothly as possible.Come on, don't be like that! I did it myself, spent two hours on it, and now what? Nothing.

Thank you for the update! The forum was recently updated from version 2.2.13 to version 2.3.7 on December 27th, 2025. We're aware of some issues happening with certain functions and features of the forum. Please hang tight while the admins of the forum address the issues of such a large upgrade.
Image issues in DMs (and possibly forum threads), Groups not working and may be something not mentioned.
Brought it to the one that updated and he's currently working on those issues. Not too sure on the ETA for some.
I'll mention @admin @SloppyTac0 so he can see this and others could point out any thing they find.
As a possibility, I would advise clearing site data, or if you're in tor, new identity to clear up any cache issues due to any new code changes.
The largest standard modules (UDIMM) are 32GB, and the maximum you can fit in a home computer, in 4 RAM slots, is 128GB. There is no way to physically fit 512GB into such a machine. My PC has AMD Ryzen 7 5800X With 64GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 8GB Graphics. I have seen many PC's with upwards of 512gb of ram. I think the difference is in how someone posts the file.I noticed in the past large videos went to download instead of viewing them directly. They no longer do the download? Not sure why
Prior to this post you had under 20, meaning as per the change made 4 months ago you didn't have the right to PM or profile post.Noticed recently that the button to send DMs is missing, and there's no place to leave messages on people's profile either? Not sure if that's part of the update or just something weird on my end...
Ahh gotcha, thank you!Prior to this post you had under 20, meaning as per the change made 4 months ago you didn't have the right to PM or profile post.
GIFs used to be banned not only because of their annoying flickering, but also because they put an enormous strain on the server when 1000 users are online at the same time and everyone has to share the same GIFs.My PC has AMD Ryzen 7 5800X With 64GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 8GB Graphics. Switched image processing from GD to PECL, animated avatar Gifs seem to be working for me, try yours now.Floofyyyy, fix the fuckin' avatar problem, plzzz.
Recently, when we try to set dynamic gif avatars, the system flattens them. Ask @pes, he will confirm.
The plug-in was wanting to fight me a bit, but it looks like I was able to get the Group Media tab configured for now. It seems to be working. Hopefully nothing's broken and nobody encounters any glitches with it.I just discovered that the media section of the groups is no longer accessible when accessed it displays: "Oops! We ran into some problems. The requested page could not be found."
Meh, I was going to leave that as a ZCA exclusive, but I guess I can enable it here too. It definitely is a useful tool.Boof. Maybe it would be worth turning on multi-quote?
It works, thanks.Switched image processing from GD to PECL, animated avatar Gifs seem to be working for me, try yours now.
It's actually hilarious how many people you see telling those without PM rights that they just need to make "I think" 30 posts, with no mention of 30 days. Don't know why it's "I think". If they're so concerned with other's PM rights they should know the restrictions themselves.where the majority of members don't see at the end of the one-line sentence that 20 comments + 30 days.
Thanks for fixing the gifs. Back to confusing people with the blinking.Switched image processing from GD to PECL, animated avatar Gifs seem to be working for me, try yours now.
