Oh Hey, ZV was updated. But quick news in here.

The pesky reptilians on the far side of the moon.
The reptilians are a species on the The Xindi Council and wants to destroy the human race so not surprised they have a moon base

Anyway, In DM's you can only edit for 5 mins I think then its permanent

+N on slow response times. But hey, don't kill the messenger. I'm not complaining, just helping y'all debug with field reports from the userbase.

Its also slow to autocomplete or populate things, eg. the emoji list, or when entering partial usernames in the search tool. Good thing "MashaSobaka" is tattooed on the back of my eyelids; I just type him out faster than the server can grind. But pretty much anything that takes a bunch of SQL queries will bog down, so my finger's pointing to something on the DB backend. Or a pid is exhausting its resource limits and hanging. Maybe the damn porn hounds are extra-horny this week; it is springtime after all. Could even be background noise from a more subtle, targeted DDoS attack again.

Whatever it is,

Maybe it change with the update. Or the reptilians did it. Look at them, hideous! Fucking hideous! No furry worked on that project.

Naw. He ain't so bad. Long as he's got any kind of phallic dick in that slit, I'll still find a way to coax it out and suck it. I mean, hell, if I can get a brangus bull hard thru a sheath so flabby it looks like a zebu's dewlap, I bet I can work with whatever your monster reptile's got. Besides looks aren't everything, you know. Attitude and aggression makes up for a lot. Figure he's got plenty of that. In fact he looks like he's one step away from throwing me down and tossing me an especially viscous hard fuck. And I'm totally here for it.

But back to important business, yeah that sure would suck if we can't edit posts anymore, even after 150. That's like, the whole point of getting past that milestone. However, I went all the way back as far as it would let me (2021) and I still have the edit button. At least on the few I spotchecked.

What I don't have, is posts beyond 2021! And I joined 2019 not long after this place went live. So I guess... The Great Purge killed off my early contributions to the forum? Fuuuuuuuuuuck. Y'all, I can't give back what's been lost. I don't have backups. It's gone forever. Devastating loss. Sad. Bull pfp cry.

Everybody, bow your heads. A moment of silence, for Daedalus's lost early history here.

Oh no, man. Someone's put a spell on you.
To break the spell, you have to go to the courtyard of the nearest church at midnight, wearing a white bath towel and rubber boots, facing west, and sing "Glory, glory, hallelujah" as loud as you can, five times.
After that, you must go home, wash yourself with holy water, and carefully read the forum rules, which can be found 👉 right here 👈.
I thank you for guiding me in the correct path even though you added a lot of other rubbish words but I am still very pleased with your help cheers.

It seems you haven't read the rules carefully. Okay, enough joking around.

First thing first.
To send PMs, you must first have posted at least 20 times in the forum and have been a member for at least one month. Posts in the Fun & Games section and profile comments do not count.
Second.
Your profile picture is such that it wouldn’t be hard to recognize you in real life. If you insist on using a pic of yourself, I advise you to post one where your face isn’t visible. Or at least pixelate your eyes.
Third.
Be careful which posts you like. It’s happened more than once or twice or three times - someone posts something that warrants a ban, and the moderators ban not only the original poster but also everyone who liked it.

Seriously, read the rules if you plan to stick around here for a while.

I found quick solution for this. If that error appears, put airplane mode, put online back, reconnect TOR (if You using vpn), refresh forum or ZV will refresh itself. After this, everything works normal. Until next crash in a half an hour 🤭
Oh, no. I only access this forum from a computer - either the desktop or my laptop. I use my phone for browsing on the go, and I only come here when I'm relaxing at home.
However, the same still applies.

Hey seriously thank you so much! I really appreciate this a ton you're a Chad of a lad! And what exactly do I have to post just anything? Like this post that I made asking this question? And my pic is covering a bit so I should be fine. And thank you for all the warnings.

Is this the thread to post issues with the site?

Well, it's not realy an issue, more some kind of accidental leak. Below every page there are 4 sharing options. I don't think anyone would like their presence here be known to their professional network. In order not to accidentaly share it, I suggest removing the LinkedIn button. Maybe Bluesky as well.

In group discussions when like is selected an error message is displayed, if/when the page is refreshed the like is posted though.

At least your's don't post upside down before they break 🤣

This is what happens when you don't stay current with your gravity payments. /s/s/s

I don't know which image manipulation lib you're using but I've usef SIPS on the Mac and it has the habit of sometimes rotating images for some reason (TPRWTMBTK - The Problem Resides With The Man Behind The Keyboard). I'd love to find a way to fix it, but it touches on a big issue. I suspect that the PNG display is handled by non-compiled code in web pages (Firefox) as PNG images always take forever to load and display as slowly as if they are on quaaludes. An image optimization to recompress JPEGs to 60% would preserve the quality and reduce both file sizes and the site's outgoing bandwidth. It's not too hard to script and there are image optimization libs out there for all platforms, but I'm not sure how you'd be able to add that to the website's server package.

A conversion package that would convert PNGs to JPG at 60% would also save in outgoing server bandwidth, would keep nearly identical image quality and play back on all devices and platforms.

But for me, being able to ignore fora, topics and people who I don't care about would be the big win. Why should we be presented with what we have no interest in? Just imagine being able to ignore Dumpsterfire! Or Bronies! Or more than 1000 people! You're left with what you're interested in. Everyone wins!

Cheers and good luck.

Curious if metadata is stripped automagically upon upload of images and videos.

It has bever been automatic.

A plugin would scan images and delete metadata, but your info could be exposed for an hour, or more, or less. Also, if you uploaded as attachement, it would never be scaned or deleted.

And, last I heard, that optimuzation plugin was disabled, so I would not count on it
(check my non answered question and context -here-)
