User Permission Updates and Forum Changes

I can't seem to load multiple pages in a quick succession or open multiple tabs one after another. Site gives error and locks me out for a few hours. I think there's a limitation introduced on how fast queries are allowed per connection. I've had trouble browsing threads page by page.

Yes there is.
If you are using tor, change to a new circuit.

Well.. it sucks for the honest folks. But the bad apples ruin things for everyone else.. Is it possible to reduce the post requirements for people who have been around a while? It's not that difficult to rack up the required number of posts by just making short comments, but it feels rather arbitrary. You'll get a lot of people making pointless comments just to make the number go +1

My problem is.. I don't want to talk to 99% of people on here. It's the remaining 1% that keeps me around.

I don't agree with this. Why should people be forced to meet a certain bar of posts to send PMs? Some people prefer privacy. But what can you do.

Because of the types of people who typically join the forum.
You will eventually notice that too.

These are protective features. This is an illegal porn forum. It's full of crazy people. There should be stricter rules than this, but the administration doesn't dare resort to radical measures.

>PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned.... While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.

I don't get it. Maybe it's just me. A person joining this group will often be someone who has worked up the courage to do so. Not an easy thing. It may have taken weeks, months or even years to put their head up. And when they finally arrive, being told it's a thirty day wait is, well, kinda dispiriting. Essentially, with no human contact, you're asking them to go away for thirty days and come back then.

For me, and perhaps others, this site is about the human contact. Discouraging that aspect seems counter productive.

What is really achieved by this change and is the price of doing so really lower than the issue it was attempting to resolve?

And btw; I'm a visitor who prefers not to post. It's just me. I tend to make my comments one on one, rather than to the crowd. I guess it's just how I am. (this post is a rare exception for me) So making a site which requires a certain behaviour, like posting=good member, ergo, no posting=bad member, is a bit short sighted.

You don't get it...and that's ok. Most people do get it. Making posts is easy and doesn't require much thought. The most recent addition to my ignore list is someone who made 40+ posts within 24 hours of joining the forum. The 30 day limit prevents scammers, fraudsters, spammers, and anti-zoos from being able to create an account and then start PMing vulnerable, desperate, or foolish members. A PM from a long-standing member who has shown their true colours in their posting, (such as yourself), poses significantly less danger than a PM from a new account with no posting history. Maybe lower restrictions would achieve the same result, maybe not. The obvious consequence for making a zoo-related mistake is time in an arrest, loss of job, losing your friends, shame on your family, and prison time. If in doubt - safety first.

Hello ZooVille!

I'm just giving everyone a heads up that the user privilege permissions have been updated on the forum, along with some other changes to the layout.

NEW User Permissions:

  • To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum AND wait 24 hours for automation to do the change. What is a post?
  • Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
  • Note: that if you do not meet these new requirements, you may lose access to the ability to send new PMs until you meet both thresholds.

PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.

Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:

  • The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
  • This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
  • The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
  • "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.

These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.

Thank you for your understanding on the matter.

Another update: October 4th, 2025: Changes to Groups...

As of October 4th, 2025: The ability to create new groups in the social groups area of the forum has been disabled for all members. This is mainly because there's too many of them already, and our moderators are not able to effectively moderate them due to issues with the plug-in itself. The groups plug-in is, quite frankly, broken. If this update is reversed, I'll let everyone know. But for the time being you may join groups, leave groups, interact with groups, post threads, post photos, post events, etc. but you will not be able to create NEW groups.
This is fair 🙏🏻

Understand the need for these changes. My question: Do I need to have so many posts or time on the forum before having the ability to follow someone? I have been away for a while and just made a new account. I cannot follow people.
Thanks.
