User Permission Updates and Forum Changes

How's that going to affect current status? I could be called a "lurker". I am only fearful of commenting due to nature of the content etc. And plus, this is a deeply personal & private sexual feeling.

While I understand the increase in comments etc. I can also see this "deterring" members from sticking around.

Currently I can still chat with existing chat's I had previously, but can't create new ones so will have to "lift" my comments :(

Hello ZooVille!

I'm just giving everyone a heads up that the user privilege permissions have been updated on the forum, along with some other changes to the layout.

NEW User Permissions:

  • To be able to access PMs (Private Messages) you must now make at least 20 posts AND you must be a member for at least 30 days on the forum AND wait 24 hours for automation to do the change. What is a post?
  • Further restrictions have also been applied to the PM + Pictures privilege. You must get 150 posts on the forum AND you must be a member for 60 days to be able to send pictures in PM.
  • Note: that if you do not meet these new requirements, you may lose access to the ability to send new PMs until you meet both thresholds.

PMs are not a right, they are a privilege that needs to be earned. While setting the bar to 10 posts did cut down on lurker spam, it's become obvious that it's too easy for people to spam 10 posts and then start breaking rules in PMs. While 20 is not a hard number of posts to reach, there's nothing that can be done to subvert father time. You must be patient.

Logged Out / Guest Forum Access:

  • The ability to read the forum while you are logged out as been revoked. You'll now see the forum categories, but they will all be set to private.
  • This excludes the "ZooVille - News and Announcements" section of the forum, which will still be visible to Guests / Logged Out users.
  • The ability to use the search function while a Guest / Logged Out has been revoked. Only members with a valid account may use the search function.
  • "ZooVille.org News and Announcements" has been renamed to "ZooVille - News and Announcements" this is because "ZooVille.org" is a locked domain, and I don't think the registrar is going to give it back to us. You may also notice that this section is it's own category now and no longer a part of the general section. This was the only way to unlock it for Guests / Logged Out users.

These changes are mainly due to privacy and user safety concerns. To view the forum you HAVE to be a member of the forum. Due to the nature of zoophilia and bestiality, and due to the fact that this is the largest forum about these topics, we believe having an account should be a bare minimum requirement.

Thank you for your understanding on the matter.

Another update: October 4th, 2025: Changes to Groups...

As of October 4th, 2025: The ability to create new groups in the social groups area of the forum has been disabled for all members. This is mainly because there's too many of them already, and our moderators are not able to effectively moderate them due to issues with the plug-in itself. The groups plug-in is, quite frankly, broken. If this update is reversed, I'll let everyone know. But for the time being you may join groups, leave groups, interact with groups, post threads, post photos, post events, etc. but you will not be able to create NEW groups.
Sounds good

good for you guys, this really has been a long time coming. i'm someone who doesn't interact at all really, so this affects me, but i dont really care either, because, well, as a lurker i've never participated anyways, so not being able to PM is not important to me at all, which is why i kinda find it funny that a lot of other lurkers might get mad about it. like, if you're PMing people, how hard is it to interact publicly too? how are you even meeting people to PM in the first place? presumably i guess they just message people that make content they like or something. idk, i just dont really understand the logic, it only really makes sense if you're up to no good.

it's better for the community as a whole if this helps get rid of bad actors, they make all of us look bad and draw unnecessary heat, not to mention the potential security concerns such as phishing attempts by whatever groups are currently targeting the site with ddos attacks.

They can DM each other about things that would get them banned from the forum. That's one of the main reasons they're so worried about DM.

Another is to approach womens for sexual purposes.

And the third is that they want to talk to a member, maybe show pictures of their pets, and they don't want to do that on a public forum because it's not safe.

To add to that, I hope that @dyno is familiar with the concept of private conversation. Not everyone else needs to hear the every conversation. Hence the concept. People can branch off from a general discussion and take it private. Or they just might be conspiring to take over the entire planet - through zoofilia

The planet you save could be you own.

I would like to say that I have been a member here for several years and have posted , commented, PM'd etc plenty of times. But with life changes I haven't been able to be in the site as much and have lost privileges. I agree with people needing to be active but also know it isn't always possible and people need to step away. And when they return shouldn't have their privileges removed (ie unable to pm people any longer.)
Just my thoughts.

have posted , commented, PM'd etc plenty of times.
10 posts in 3.5 years hardly qualifies as "plenty of times". That's 1 post every 4 months, and they're all either comments on porn or recent complaints that you can't PM anymore because you lost some in the Great Personal Purge. Periodic inactivity does not change the fact you were never someone posting and interesting enough take to private conversation.

The type of reaction I expected. . .
I do have a life outside of this site as well as the subject.

Kinda sucks for members who had met the requirement previously, but in the name of security, it makes sense.

Oh no I just missed the old cut offs! Nuts!

Oh I get it. It’s just I am late to the party here in Saskatchewan so it really does suck “Lurking” when wanting to connect with the interesting people
