Would it be possible to get an ignore feature for forums/subforums?

Or dissappear from lurkers in general. Or people I actually know for a fact are fuckin nuts.
If I came on that site knowing I am so zoo and if I could only see lurkers's messages... I would loose all faith in humanity and ask for chemical castration 🫠
Please, think twice ✂️

FWIW, I really want this. I'm interested in certain things and have no interest at all to others like furries, M/M anything and so on.

If we could ignore sub fora or specific thread topics, this site would be more useful to me. It's a case of removing what I don't want, don't care about, don't want to see and being left with more that I am more likely to want to see. It doesn't exclude anyone, it just lets us fine tune what is presented to us rather than selecting Ignore over and over and over. This would be especially great in the What's New posts feed and simply by eliminating the choices presented to me in Forums that I'll never want to visit and prefer to avoid.

So the vast majority of this forum? 😂
Jokes aside the block button exists, even if it’s not great it’s better than nothing
It's much easier and more efficient to block a topic or sub forum than it is to select Ignore over and over and over again on a per person basis.

I like the idea of this feature. Personally, I'm disinterested in the IRL porn sections (aside from solo, furry/feral, animal mating, and non-zoo, I avoid IRL bestiality content for personal and ethical reasons in spite of myself being a zoo), and also don't have any interest in hookups. It'd make my life a lot easier to be able to browse by new and see what actually appeals to me, and avoid any mis-clicks too. It's certainly not the end of the world, but I absolutely see where you're coming from OP.

To all of the above - it's not going to happen on this site with the current owner.

This forum is currently run on XenForo forum software. The version in use looks to be out of date and behind on security software. In addition to an up-to-date software version there are multiple available add-ons. These are not expensive to buy. For example the ignore feature add-on costs about $20 per year. The issue is that the forum has an absentee owner and only the owner can install updates and add-ons. What is needed is someone else to create and run a forum. That requires certain technical abilities, significant funds, and more importantly the willingness to do it. Running a forum like this doesn't generate money or fame and it could result in a lengthy prison sentence.

In the meantime many items can be blocked using standard internet browser add-ons such as uBlock Origin on Firefox. If you install uBlock, click on the uBlock icon, click on the gears icon/open the dashboard, and then click on My filters. Once you've added:

! 18 Aug 2025 https://www.zoovilleforum.net

(Accurate or current date not required), you can add your own custom filters below it. Adding:

www.zoovilleforum.net##[data-author="majolica"]
www.zoovilleforum.net##.js-threadListItem-130029.js-inlineModContainer.structItem--thread.structItem
www.zoovilleforum.net##.block--category907.block--category.block

...would block majolica, (me), this thread, and the Dumpster Fire forum. The obvious problem is that your personal element blocklist is available on an open list on the uBlock browser icon dashboard to anyone who can access your browser - effectively an admission by you that you regularly visit this forum. If you are using Tor, (or another browser), that is loaded on an encrypted external hard drive then it shouldn't be any more of a security risk than having Zoo material on that drive or having this site in the browser bookmarks. Clearly it is dangerous to have anything potentially illegal on your C: drive, and any risk would be magnified if it wasn't in an encrypted file. Safety first would be my advice.

Bummer that the absentee owner is not reachable to grant other owner rights. Thanks for the time spent to detail the issue. If we get the site's admin access awarded to several trusted admins (ya, if), I could spare some time to evaluate requests for implementation. I'll try to follow your instructions on blocking since I just hit the 1000 user limit today. Maybe a guide would help others.

Thanks.

To be clear I have nothing to do with the running of this site. I've modded, and run competitions on add-ons, on a forum that uses XenForo software. The Xenforo software is good even if i'm not a fan of the people running XenForo. I'm also an avid element blocker so i'm used to blocking all sorts of things on different pages. If you need something or someone specific blocked then drop me a PM and i'll see if I can figure it out. I don't think I could prevent members from following you or remove them from your 'followed by' list, (if that's what you were hoping for).
