And all Im saying is there are not a thousand people here with anything of value to say. You've been here a month. You just havent seen it yet.
It actually could have a reason for it though. It's a number they picked out of the air. I can say that as a fact. But I can also say that you're 100% right.
It actually could have a reason for it though.
For example each ignored user adds a record into the database.
So each user of a large forum may have a 1000 database lines just for the ignore list and another 1000 just for the follow list in addition to anything else.
The forum has 261,851 members.
If all of them had 1000 ignored users, that is 261,851,000 database records.
SELECT columns FROM table WHERE test_column [NOT] IN (value1, value2,...);what is a reasonable limit to the size of an SQL filtercreating large sql filtersSELECT columns
FROM table_xxx
WHERE desired_guids NOT IN (SELECT exclusion_ID FROM ignore_table);
And I start off knowing that. I am the newb here, no matter what else I have done in life. I can only hope to become worth listening to over time. And all Im saying is there are not a thousand people here with anything of value to say. You've been here a month. You just havent seen it yet.
How about "no".How about a follower request with no limit on who to follow as we do choose? Uwu
Ooooooh! Such an accomplishment!Guess who joined the 1000 follow limit club. Me
That’s just rude.Ooooooh! Such an accomplishment!
(Found the stalker wannabe...)
Check this image for exactly how much I care. That’s just rude.
What makes you think I'm a stalker? Why you starting shit? Let's hash this out on ome.tvOoooooh! Such an accomplishment!

What makes you think I'm a stalker?
Why you starting shit?
Huh?Let's hash this out on ome.tv
Well your wrong. How are you going to finish it? It's a website check it out. Convince other people to try stuff with a pet. I wanna talk to you on there.Your own words and behavior.
I don't start shit. I have been known to finish it, however.
Huh?
I know it's difficult for you, but try to use your words. WTF is "ome.tv", and what does it have to do with "hashing out" anything?
Stalking and/or "social" OCD - "look how many 'friends' I have!".What's the point?
Oh ok. I'm just not going to follow anybody. Seems like a hassle to deal with.Stalking and/or "social" OCD - "look how many 'friends' I have!".
I wonder what that person picked? If it were me I would choose 1. Just because forum reader sounds cool and shit if they were offering money I would just do it for the money. As for 2. If someone follows somebody just because the avatar is sexy. Maybe they think it was a real person. The first to follow 1001 users will be awarded a Virtual Trip to Bangladesh at their own expense.
And now a little more seriously.
1) If you follow 1000 people, then you care what they write. Which means you regularly read what they post. To follow the posts of 1000 people every day, you'd need a full-time job as, say, a "forum reader". And for 1001 or more, you'd have to regularly take overtime. That leaves open the question of who is going to give you a salary. Mare Lover 1975, pes, dogluver101, do you pay salaries?
2) ... or are you just another virtual sucker who follows every sexy avatar pic?
Actually, I just hit the 1000 user limit on users ignored today. I've got no interest in gay or trans discussions, so I just ignore folks I'm not interested in or who have interests or are discussing topics I'm interested in. Buuuut now I can't continue to fine tune what I'd like to see because of this imposed limit. Is there a way to increase it on a per user basis? It is an arbitrary limit that should be able to be overridden on a subclass of the basic user object or on a per user setting override. There's no technical reason for that to be a hard limit for all users. Why?
No its not possible. Ask Xenforo.Actually, I just hit the 1000 user limit on users ignored today. Is raising that limit to 2000 on a per user basis a request that would be considered? Thanks.
Because they didn't expect someone that needs to have that many, sometimes you have to just ignore their post and move on.There's no technical reason for that to be a hard limit for all users.
Yeah, I looked at their source about 6 months ago. Guess it's just not practical to spend my time on and with the absentee owner, unlikely to be put into place even if I did find the solution. Thanks. No its not possible. Ask Xenforo.
