Your favorite/relatable song

Too relatable.
Adema -

La casa por el tejado
- Fito & Fitipaldis
(terrible translation by Google, just barely patched)

Now yes
It seems that I am beginning to understand
The important things here
Are the ones under the skin
And everything else
Starts where my feet end

After a long time I learned
There are things that are better not to learn
School taught me little
If it was only for those books,
I'd ever learn
To take the sky with my hands
To laugh and cry what I sing to you
To sew my broken soul
To lose the fear of looking like an idiot
And to start the house from the roof

To be able to sleep, when you are not by my side
Thank goodness I was a bit of a rascal
Everything I know, a witch taught me

Ruins
Can't you see that, inside, I'm in ruins?
My cigarette is burning time
Time that turned into ashes
Weird. I don't say different, I say weird
I no longer know if the world is upside down
Or am I the one who is upside down.

Most of my favorites are from Poets of the Fall. They're music is very philosophical and romantic. Me and my fiancé loved listening to them together.

Now he's gone and that music is all I have left. But in a good way. Cause it reminds me of who I was with him. That I am capable of providing and receiving love. Hopefully one day I'll be able to move on.

Not really a song as it is moreso a compilation of songs. (Content advisory for harsh sounds).

Lately, it's been "Living Hope" by Phil Wickham.

In Waves by Trivium is probably my favorite album ever. It came out at a pivotal point in my life. That's one of the only albums that I have to listen to start to finish, no shuffles, no skips, every time.

If I have to pick an album off that song, it's probably a toss up between A Grey so Dark and Drowning in Slow Motion.

I'll talk about music for ages if I'm enabled so I'll leave it at that.

Waste by Seether. I always felt like that song was wrote about me.
Monolith by Stone Sour, too.
FBINS is such a powerful album. Spent so many hours of my youth listening to Waste, Rise Above This, and Breakdown on repeat. It's easily in my top three.

I started listening to Seether since they first came out onto the music scene. Karma and Effect is my personal favorite, but FBINS and Disclaimer are close seconds; although if their FIRST first album is included (Fragile, when they were known as Saron Gas), then Fragile is my absolute fav... raw and still unaltered by big record labels. Like you, I could talk about music non-stop if enabled... I have Jeopardy like useless knowledge on the history or rock and music in general.

Karma and Effect is really good, too. Honestly all of old-school Seether is fantastic, that's usually what I listen to when I'm in the mood. I think the last album I really listened to by them was Isolate and Medicate. Not for any particular reason other than my musical interests had shifted.

It wasn't until a handful of months ago that I listened to some of their more recent stuff. Think I listened to a song off of Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum. It was pretty good, I ought to catch up on their discography at some point.

I like all their albums, but I heard a shift once Isolate & Medicate came out. Still great music though 🤘

New Dawn Fades. OG Joy Division doesn't really hit me that hard, but this cover does. Very plodding pace paired with ethereal spaciousness and kind of defeated vocals amps it up. I may be a bit melodramatic.

Yeah, definitely agree there. It feels like I've only heard one song off that album in like 7-8 years, and that was when I was going taking a nostalgia trip through an old playlist. When I've had Seether cravings I'm always going back to their old stuff.

Sort of a similar feeling with Trivium. I love everything pre-Silence in the Snow, and I think I'm one of three people that actually really like SITS for what it was despite how drastic of a shift it was. But their stuff post-SITS has been, I dunno..... not bad by any means, it just doesn't grab me like their old stuff. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe my tastes are different, maybe it's their direction. Or all three. Lol

I'll still binge their albums when they come out, but after that I sort of stop listening to them barring my favorite tracks.

Ahhh, fuck it imma do one more.

Parquet Courts - Tenderness

Parquet Courts said:
We've come to replace your clock's old stubborn hands
We are the answer to why they never had a chance
It was not so long ago that the world was mostly slow
The age of iron, steam and speed turned a stroll to a stampede
But we've come to increase time in between ticks
And there is romance in the slow dances
'Cause they're fertile in hush, futile in haste
These are your nerves, this is how they taste
Well, I can't count how many times I've been outdone by nihilism
Joined the march that splits an open heart into a schism
I cower at the thought of other people's expectations
And yet still hand over mine to them

Travel where you are, tourism is sin
These are the ruins we left behind, you can't take pictures of them
If what they say is true, then you become what you chew
If it decays, spit it out, affectation is a drought
That you wait through when you hate everything that you do
You wanna live outside the groove, then fine
But it's there like a flower blooming in your ears
Open up your mouth, pollinate your peers
Nothing reminds the mind of power like the cheap odor of plastic
Leaking fumes we crave, consume, the rush it feels fantastic
But like power turns to mold, like a junkie going cold
I need the fix of a little tenderness

I mean, goddamn. Hardest hitting most relatable part bolded, but the whole thing is fucking fantastic. Very tight 3 minute track, lyrics are DENSE with description but aren't excessively cryptic or flowery. I feel like it's not rushed, and it's not overly self indulgent either.

It's just like, an explanation of how people become cold and distant and somehow influence each other to be the same way and it's kind of just a self perpetuating mechanism of modern culture. It's hard to escape, and people often feed into it subconsciously in a way that's so insidious. God, so fucking good.

Is it your favourite song or a song you find most relatable? Because for me it's not the same answer.
