Wonder about the future of our four legged friends

I always stop to look at my dog and wonder if we are close to have available some treatment or something that could make dogs live at least as long as us, kinda makes me depressed to think that our little furry friends will be with us for very few years :(

Agreed, but it also depends on the breed. Some can live for a dozen years, and even more. As long as yours is young and healthy, then I believe they will be by your side for a long time.

My friends who own dogs have a new dog every 5 years so they always have 2 or 3 at a time which makes losing once less traumatic. ALso they plan their dogs passing. When arthritis sets in they choose a day to put their dog down and plan towards that day by taking their dog on its favorite adventures.

It's a great tragedy that dogs only live for around 15 years, yet those years are often filled with an abundance of love and happiness that we share with them. In their simple lives, they find joy in the smallest of things. Like a walk in the park, a game of fetch, or a cozy spot beside us on the couch. This deep bond we create can equal a lifetime of happiness, embodying the purest form of companionship. While their time with us may be fleeting, the love they give and the joy they bring can equal a lifetime of fulfillment that many humans could only ever wish to experience.

I hate to even think about that day. I dread it all the time so I try to spend as much time as possible with her. I heard a quote the other day that I liked. I don't remember exactly how it went bit it was something like this. "Dogs may only be a chapter in our book but to them we are their whole book" so give them the extra treat, take the extra 10 minutes on the walk. They are full of love for us show them some in return.
