My sister and I recently got a twelve week old Belgian Malinois and I’ve been told he has humped a few things here and there but for some reason he doesn’t do anything when he’s around me. I have tried to pet him going from belly towards his special area and see if anything could potentially happen and so far I’ve gotten nowhere. And so my thoughts are maybe he’s not interested or he’s just not in the mood when I’m around. Any advice?

Then I’d say just give him time, build a relationship of trust and cuddles with him. If you freak him out it can be very hard to get him to trust you again.

It would be his age. Also id he being obedience trained. That will bring out the desire to please which will be useful later on. Remember he about little kid in human terms.
