Problem with alerts/notifications

Sorry if this is the wrong section but I couldn’t see where else was best to post this.

I keep getting activity alerts/notifications (badges on the bell icon) from accounts I don’t follow in threads/sections/groups I don’t follow/watch. Today for example I had a notification in the “tips for choosing a dog” thread, in the how to’s section, from a user I don’t follow, I don’t watch this thread or watch that section of the site. This is only one example but there are several more.

Is this a common issue? I’ve never experienced it on other forum sites I’m part of.

There's also this one for a thread in the M/F dogs section, which was actually what took me by surprise and caused me to raise this as an issue.

Go to that thread and check if the button up on the right says Unwatch.

Yeah to confirm, I don’t watch that thread, it’s section, or follow that user.





Same with the other thread/user.
