it happens when she either isn't quite ready (too soon in the cycle) or it's the usual "get fucked by this random male" meeting dog breeders do or a combination of the two. a zoo (not a kinkster looking for hookups in the personal ads here) would generally have sex with their partner as a culmination of the bond they share, sex not being the point of said bond like in any other relationship.
