Ok I gotta resurrect this to correct this…. STI’s can MOST CERTAINLY be transmitted long after the sperm have died, if it’s not dried out or sterilized.

While a dose of horse semen isn’t a tablespoon, but almost 75% of it is a milk based extender (or other type). So any flavor you’d get would be milk-like. Frozen is even worse, there’s almost no “semen” in it anymore, just extender and sperm. Similar process with dogs.

Most other species don’t use cooled semen, they sell frozen 0.5ml straws. But they’re a lot cheaper! Good bulls run $35-75+ per straw. But, 99% of it is extender, and in no way represents anything at all to the original semen.

So I agree, buying semen commercially will not resemble semen of any type. If you find a zoo who’s willing to sell it, not only would they want a lot of $ for it, but it’d also be difficult to ship. Only way is frozen, and overnight as it will quickly grow bacteria. Not cheap to do that. Only realistic way is having a local breeder friend to get it fresh from :)

see folks..fresh from the horse's mouth, thanks guy...good info..though I knew this before as I used AI on my first cattle until I bought a bull. the Tech who arrived told me at the time of the straw being mostly extender...me always curious to learn

this is not true, I ship semen all the time.
 
Hi, did anyone else try to get horse semen from a breeder with no extender or antibiotics, and drank it or swallowed it fresh soon after? Has it worked for you? I tried but most breeders say they need a vet to perform the action and I don't know what info they might ask for if I tell them I need it for some "research".

Spot on comment! There are two options in such cases. Be the keeper/steward of the animal(s) you want fresh semen from OR establish a genuine friendship with someone that is (probably more difficult). Really topics like this come from bestialists/fetishists, NOT zoophiles. Such individuals are only interested in 'instant gratification' with virtually ZERO investment of themselves. Pathetic and sad!

I have been trying to find guys to do that for me for years. But no one has sent anything. How did you get it to work out for you?
